BIG NEWS!!!!! We haven't been active much lately, because Lyons hasn't had much going on. "What was that loud boom??" "Why is Lawndale closed at 47th Street?" "Why are there so many squad cars outside Lyons Video? Prayers for everyone involved!"

Nobody cares, but they WILL care about this!! We got a hot tip this evening about a very well known piece of property in Lyons. The pit that was formerly a quarry is getting quite the makeover! Rumor has it, there's a new tenant taking over the site and you are gonna lose your mind!! We can't tell you just yet, but we'll give you a hint. Break out those foam fingers! Lions and tigers and.........

Quite disappointed. We finally went through all of the Halloween candy bags the kids brought home and didn't find a single rainbow candy fentanyl. Booooooo

We’ve been away for a while, but we’re back with a vengeance! So many great things happening in our wonderful town! Too many to list in one update, but here’s a big one….. the iconic Zero Gravity dance club is coming back and it’s coming to LYONS!!

Huge thank you to McCook for hosting the village Christmas party! Would have been nice to have it in Lyons, but there just isn’t a venue large enough in town to accommodate such a festive event. If PJ Klem’s steps up to the plate with a nice campaign donation, we’ll reconsider for 2022. Merry Christmas!!!

And now, the moment you've all been waiting for! The Lyons Lion of the Month for January 2021! This was entirely unexpected- we got more messages than ever before! Dozens of Lyons Living devotees reached out to nominate fellow members for the award, but one individual popped up in more messages than anyone else. We were told that this person simply "IS Lyons!" and also that "he's a great guy to grab a beer with!" Congratulations to the Lyons Living Lion of the Month for January 2021- Steve Shepski! We're told Steve is a REAL Lyons Living member- a lifelong resident (unlike so many of the haters!) Steve supports local businesses whenever possible, whether he's hitting flyballs at Stella's batting cages, grabbing a delicious pizza from Waterworks, or tipping one back at a local watering hole!

Unfortunately, given the pandemic situation, we won't be able to have an actual "passing of the torch" from our 2020 winner to Mr. Shepski, but we are optimistic that things will improve by the end of the year and we'll be able to round up all the 2021 winners for a very special Lyons Living meet & greet! Stay safe out there folks! Lyons Living masks are currently in production to keep you safe out there!

Okay folks, you've been patiently waiting for the big December 1st announcement, and here it comes! We at Lyons Living have been hard at work since we launched this site waaaaay back in 2009 as 'Lyons, IL.' We were here BEFORE the village had a page! We were here before the 'other' Lyons Living, and we owe it all to your unwavering support. Okay, enough bragging- let's get to the news! Messages from our fans gave us the idea to create a very special award-the "Lyons Living Lion of the Month" award! Since we're starting this so late in the year, our first award winner is basically the Lyons Living Lion... of the year!!! Without further ado, lets get to the presentation...

So many of the messages we received mentioned this fine lady and we couldn't argue the fact that she's been a mainstay for years here at the real Lyons Living. She loves to get into witty banter with other members -and occasionally the admins 😉 She's Lyons to her very core. One of our staffers remembers her from back in the days of Grahovac's Tavern on Lawndale & 44th Pl! That's right, folks! Put your hands together for PATTIE GRAHOVAC-WISNESKI!!! The Lyons Living Lion of the year! Let's give her a nice big Lyons roar!!
