🍂 Our fourth and final lawn treatment of the 2026 season has started!

This treatment includes a crabgrass preventer and w**d killer. You’ll see us around from now through the end of November as we work our way through the lawns.

If your yard has too many leaves for us to complete the treatment, we’ll leave a leaf note at your door. Once your leaves are picked up, please give us a call so we can return to treat your lawn!

🌧️🌱 UPDATE FOR OUR MOWING CUSTOMERS! 🌱🌧️

What a difference a few weeks can make!

After nearly two weeks of rain and limited sunshine, our lawns are looking more like spring than fall! After the dry conditions we experienced this summer, we are so thankful for this moisture. The grass is greening up, growing quickly, and getting the drink it desperately needed. 💚

With all this wonderful rain does come one small challenge—very wet lawns!!

Even when we get a day without rain, saturated soil combined with limited sunshine means lawns can take much longer than usual to dry out. Driving mowing equipment across a lawn that is too wet can leave ruts, cause unnecessary compaction, tear up turf, and ultimately do more harm than good.

That’s why our team is continually checking lawn conditions and getting into properties as soon as they are ready to be mowed. Our goal isn’t just to get your lawn mowed—it’s to take care of it while we do it! 🌱

After an extended stretch of rainy weather, getting everyone caught back up will take us a few days. More rain is in the forecast, so we are heading out today and plan to accomplish as much as Mother Nature allows! ☀️🚜

The great news is that we have healthy, green grass growing again! After such a challenging summer of drought, that is something we are incredibly thankful to see.

As conditions improve, we’ll continue working through our mowing list and get everyone caught up. From there, we look forward to settling back into our normal, consistent mowing rotation.

⭐ If we haven’t made it to your lawn yet, please don’t worry—we haven’t forgotten you!

Your lawn is on our list, we are checking conditions, and we will be there as soon as we can safely mow without causing unnecessary damage.

🌧️ We are THANKFUL for the rain! 🌧️

After a long stretch of dry weather, our lawns are finally getting a much-needed drink—and the timing couldn’t be better! 💚

We are officially starting our 3rd treatment of the year: Turf Maintenance Fertilizer!

This treatment gives your lawn the nutrients it needs to:
🌱 Encourage healthy, steady growth
💪 Strengthen the root system
💚 Improve color and overall turf health
🍂 Help keep your lawn strong as we head toward fall

🍂 Fall is a great time to give your lawn a little extra attention! 🌱

Summer can be tough on our lawns. Between the heat, lack of rain (especially this year), heavy foot traffic and mowing, your grass may be looking a little tired right now. The good news? Fall is a great time to help it recover and prepare for next spring!

Here are a few things to think about this time of year:

🌱 Aeration – Helps relieve compacted soil and allows water, air and nutrients to reach the roots.

🌱 Overseeding – Have thin or bare areas? Fall provides great growing conditions for establishing new grass.

🌱 Fertilizing – Your lawn is still working hard below the surface! Fall fertilizer helps support root development and gives your lawn nutrients it can use heading into winter.

🌱 Keep watering when needed – Cooler temperatures are hopefully coming and that doesn't always mean your lawn has enough moisture. Newly seeded areas especially need consistent moisture.

A little work this fall can make a BIG difference when everything starts greening up next spring! 💚

🍃 It’s time to start thinking about aerating your lawn! 🍃

The best time to aerate in our area is mid-August through mid-October, making now a great time to start planning!

So, why might your lawn benefit from aeration?

🌱 Relieve compacted soil – Compacted soil makes it difficult for air, water and nutrients to reach the roots. Aeration opens up the soil and helps your grass grow stronger with a healthier root system.

🌱 Preparing for new grass – Planning to seed your lawn? Aeration is a great step to help prepare the soil and give new grass seed a better environment to establish.

💧 Improve water absorption – Do you notice water pooling in areas of your lawn? Aeration can help water pe*****te the soil rather than sitting on top.

That being said, aeration isn’t necessary for every lawn! You may not need to aerate if you have a newer lawn, your grass is already thriving, or your soil is naturally sandy and loose.

🌿 Three Aeration Options at Luverne Lawn Care

1️⃣ Rent the equipment and do it yourself!
We have a machine available to rent so you can tackle the job on your own schedule.

2️⃣ Mechanical Aeration
Let us do the work for you! We use a machine that physically pulls plugs of soil from your lawn, opening up the soil and allowing air, water and nutrients to reach the roots.

3️⃣ Microbial Aeration
We can also aerate your lawn using C20, a granular product that helps accomplish the benefits of aeration without leaving soil plugs throughout your lawn.

This is a great option if you don’t want plugs left behind or if you have a sprinkler system and would rather not have to locate and mark all of your sprinkler heads.

We’ve had great success with both mechanical and microbial aeration, and we’d be happy to help you determine which option is best for your lawn! 🌱

No better way to start the day than with breakfast! 🍳☕️

This summer has gone by way too fast! It’s hard to believe some of our mowing crew will soon be heading off to college, while others are getting ready to start fall sports practices!🏈

We truly cannot say THANK YOU enough to this amazing group of men! We are so grateful for the time, effort, and dedication each one of them has put in this summer. From the early mornings and hot days to the long hours and hard work, they have shown up and given it their all. 💪🏼

We are especially thankful for the opportunity to work alongside them, get to know each of them, and watch them grow throughout the summer. They have been such an important part of our season, and we appreciate each and every one of them more than they know! ❤️

It’s going to be quite hot this week! Make sure you’re taking precautions when mowing your lawn.

Be sure to mow in the late evening when the sun and temperatures have dropped, or during the mid-morning after the dew has completely dried but before the peak afternoon heat.

We can’t stress enough — mow high! Set your mower deck between 3½ to 4 inches. Taller grass retains more moisture and provides shade to the soil, helping prevent it from drying out during hot weather.

Also, never remove more than one-third of the grass blade in a single mowing. Scalping the lawn during a heatwave can severely damage the grass and create a slow recovery.

Finally, make sure your mower blades are sharp. Dull blades tear the grass instead of cutting it cleanly, causing the lawn to lose moisture more quickly and turn brown.
