Hoist pole for the coolest CB tower/antenna set up I’ve ever seen.
This was one of those projects that makes me really appreciate getting to meet and work for some really great people.
The tower hinges at the base so you can raise and lower the tower as needed. Obviously with the extreme length and weight of this tower, it’s just about impossible to raise and lower it by hand. So what we did was, get a long stick of 4”x1/4” square tubing, weld a pulley and a couple eye bolts up top as well as a winch plate at the base. We dug a hole, set the base of the pole 4 feet in the ground and filled it with cement. With the leverage point being over 20 feet off the ground this allows for easy and effortless raising and lowering of the CB tower.
You know it was a good job when the only difficult part of the job is material handling!

Seriously overbuilt RV cargo rack. Weighing in at roughly 250 pounds of steel alone, this rack will out live this RV and the one after that, and the one after that! Along with adding some support bracing to the hitch receiver and frame rails of the rv, this project was a good mix of shop and on site fabrication.

Modular design railing. This was a not so standard way to make a very standard design which always makes things interesting! The main purpose is obviously a standard railing. The not so standard part was making it modular. 3 sections, with 2 sections being anchored to the concrete and still removable and then one section that slides into 2 stake pockets and tightens down for quick and easy removal and re-install. The purpose for this design is to be able to easily remove a section and place ramps there for moving appliances, furniture, or anything big in and out of the house. We did all the fabrication and paint in the shop and then did the install onsite with the help of the customer. This was a fun project and I got to meet and work with some good people in the process

Feeder mount number 2. Made this weldment to mount to the front of a pickup. Took some 3/8 thick flat bar and welded some spacer plates on and put a slight bend in it in hopes of matching the curvature of the truck bumper. Then some square tube to gain some height and more flat bar with studs welded in to mate with the bracket on the feeder to make for easy install and removal. Then the bracket on the feeder to give it a strong attachment point.

Quick 2 machine job for a customer. Craftsman push mower that needed some love. We did a basic tune up and blade sharpen on the mower as well as a crankshaft key, valve job, head gasket and breather gaskets. For the generator we did a tune up, carburetor rebuild and extensive power output testing to make sure this tiny beast was operating at its fullest capabilities. These Honda small engines definitely live up to the hype without a doubt!

Just a couple of shop projects from awhile back. Torch cart and a 3 tier welding cart. Both made 98% from old scrap metal / bed frames that were about to be tossed (the other 2% is the wheels). And of course we had to paint them swamp green! Version 2 will be coming soon! The plan is to make a more rough terrain version of both of these for mobile welding jobs. Because making abstract equipment like that is a lot more fun than just buying longer leads. After all, there’s no kill like overkill!
