Ginger Rowsey with the Delta Farm Press explains how cotton classing offices work with this report on Classing and Automation. Featured is the FFA-designed Memphis Headquarters and Cotton Classing Lab facility. Steve Grantham and Roger Alldredge with USDA AMS Cotton and To***co are leading the way in designing automated processes for classing cotton. FFA has partnered with them to provide facilities that maintain the tight temperature and humidity conditions that are required for classing consistency.

USDA Cotton Classing Office in Memphis, Tenn., is expanding automation in its classing procedures, while also maintaining grading standards for the cotton industry worldwide.
