NEO General Construction is seeking painters, brick masons, floor installers, drywallers and framers to help with various residential, commercial, and multi-family projects in Amarillo, Lubbock, Snyder, or Odessa/Midland. NEO is dedicated to providing stable work for individuals regardless of education and record, so long as they are willing and able to work and pass a drug test. Requirements:
- Reliable transportation
- Willingness to work
- Prior experience is preferred but not required
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift upwards of 50 pounds
- Must be punctual
- Must be able to pass a drug test
Duties for all positions listed below:
Painters:
-Assembling scaffolding as required
-Covering trim, floors, furniture and other surfaces with masking tape, drop cloths and other protective coverings to keep them free of paint
-Setting up safety equipment
-Preparing surfaces to be painted by washing them, filling holes and cracks with putty and sanding them until they’re smooth
-Applying primer and other sealers to paint surfaces
-Applying paint, stain and other finishes to paint surfaces using paintbrushes, rollers or sprayers
Floor Installers:
-Prepare surfaces for installation by removing old hardware like screws and bolts
-Use hand and power tools to install flooring materials according to client specifications
-Work alongside other installers while emphasizing safety and efficient use of time and materials
-Inspect finished work to ensure customer satisfaction and the highest possible standards of work
Brick Masons:
-Lay out the borders of the foundation
-Cut bricks to the right size
-Mix and spread mortar on the bricks
-Build up the structure
-Finish and polish all surfaces
Drywallers:
-Apply drywall to walls or ceilings.
-Fasten drywall panels to the inside framework of building.
-Prepare panels for painting by taping or finishing joints.
-Smooth out imperfections.
-Work with ceiling tile installers to build walls.
-Measure, cut, fit, and fasten panels.
-Prepare panels by sawing, drilling, or cutting holes in panels for electrical outlets, air-conditioning units, and plumbing.
-Screw panels to wood or metal framework.
-Cover nail and screw depressions with spackle.
-Apply second and third coats of compound.
-Sand areas after each coat.
Framing Carpenters:
-Accurately measuring, cutting, and shaping lumber, wood, and other building materials.
-Attaching building materials using screws, nuts, and bolts.
-Erecting temporary structures such as scaffolds and hoists.
-Performing repairs on existing framework structures that are damaged or structurally unsound.
-Performing cleanups of job sites by clearing away all carpentry debris and waste.
-Constructing wooden concrete forms to aid the construction team in erecting various concrete structures.
