When 35s used to be big, 37s were the dream. Now? 37s are just the starting point.

More and more builds are ending up on 42s and 43s, and that’s where the weak links start showing. A Dana 44 might survive for a while, but if your end goal is big tires, hard wheeling, and confidence on the trail, it’s time to think bigger.

Skip building the same Jeep twice. Start with a Dana 60 from ECGS and build it right the first time.

“Out there, this Jeep is my legs.”
Jack was 19 years old and studying forestry when an automobile accident caused a complete C5-C6 spinal cord injury. His mobility changed, but his desire to explore the outdoors did not.

Today, Jack independently drives this heavily modified Jeep using two low-effort electronic joysticks. One controls steering. The other controls acceleration and braking.

Inside the Jeep is an incredible combination of adaptive technology and years of hands-on problem-solving. An EMC AEVIT electronic driving system, custom transmission and transfer-case controls built around Jack’s available movement, an sPOD accessory system, ARB air lockers, deep reduction gearing, heavy-duty drivetrain components, and 40-inch tires all work together to help keep Jack on the trail.
His father, family, and the Central North Carolina 4×4 Club have all played major roles in building and refining the Jeep.

The result is more than an off-road vehicle. It gives Jack access to forests, mountains, overlooks, and outdoor experiences his wheelchair cannot reach.

His message about staying on designated trails, respecting public lands, and protecting motorized access is something every off-road enthusiast should hear.

After a complete spinal cord injury at age 19, Jack never lost his desire to explore the outdoors.
Today, he independently drives this Jeep using two electronic joysticks. One controls steering. The other controls acceleration and braking. The Jeep combines an EMC AEVIT adaptive driving system, custom transmission and transfer-case controls, deep reduction gearing, ARB air lockers, an sPOD system, heavy-duty drivetrain components, 40-inch tires, and years of problem-solving by Jack, his father, and members of the Central North Carolina 4×4 Club.
Every control is built around what Jack can reach and operate. Every drivetrain upgrade is designed to provide confidence and reliability. Every open trail gives Jack access to places his wheelchair cannot go.
This is Jack’s story, his Jeep, and an important reminder to stay on designated trails, respect the land, and protect responsible motorized access.
