Life got a little busy after the halfway point of Cybersecurity Awareness Month, so I’m bringing our October 16–23 lessons together in one carousel. Each slide covers a different day and gives you a practical habit to try with your family, students or community.

We’re talking about Quishing (QR code phishing), what to do after a suspicious click, checking unexpected calls and messages, sharing photos thoughtfully, understanding Incognito, reviewing free trials and caring for connected devices. You can work through all eight or choose the one that fits a conversation you need to have today.

Check the developer and download source, compare more than a star rating, and match permissions to features you actually want. Legitimate free tools are an option, while jailbroken or unauthorized copies are something to skip. Keep the app updated after you choose it.

As we celebrate Read Across America Day, I think back to sitting down as a kid reading Green Eggs and Ham by Dr. Seuss. The rhythm, the repetition, the way a simple story could stick with you for years. 📚

Those moments did more than entertain me, they built imagination and patience. They built the habit of finishing what I started.

In today’s age with technology moving fast, AI growing, devices being smarter, and screens existing everywhere, that foundational skill has not changed. The ability to read, comprehend, and think critically is still one of the greatest gifts we can give our kids.

That is why I created the Genfinity CyberTales collection. Teaching digital literacy through fun and relatable stories, allowing students to do more than just read, but to also think critically. My mission is to have our students learn the importance of creating strong passwords, recognize phishing attempts, and staying safe in an ever changing digital world.

As innovation continues to rise, let’s make sure our love for books rises with it.
