We were proud to participate in the Lorain County JVS Signing Day event and celebrate the next generation of skilled manufacturing professionals last night! Absolute Machine Tools officially signed two talented students who have already been part of our team as interns:

Caleb Gill, Service Engineer
Nico Aponte, Applications Engineer

Both Caleb and Nico have shown strong work ethic, curiosity, and a commitment to learning the machine tool industry. We are excited to welcome them into full-time roles and support their continued growth.

We were also especially proud to have our own Jack Lugas, Service Director and Lorain County JVS alum, serve as a keynote speaker at the ceremony.

Thank you to Lorain County JVS for continuing to prepare students for successful careers in skilled trades and manufacturing. We are grateful to be part of this important event and excited to see Caleb and Nico begin this next chapter with Absolute Machine Tools.

We are expanding and currently seeking CNC Field Service Technicians based near or within commuting distance of our Lorain, Ohio headquarters or our Mason, OH technical center.

Last week, we had the privilege of hosting a two-day sales training event for our distributor partner, Phillips Corporation, focused on hands-on learning, collaboration, and strengthening our partnership.

The Phillips team spent time on the floor gaining real-world experience across multiple machine platforms—from Johnford and Shimada to APEC, and more—while working directly with our applications engineers to better understand capabilities, cutting strategies, and customer fit.

We also had valuable training sessions with our technology partners Precihole, Fagor, and Mitsubishi Controls, providing deeper insight into controls, feedback, and process optimization.

Two productive days filled with learning, connection, and sales support—all aimed at helping our teams better support customers in the field. We’re confident this experience will continue to drive success for both organizations and strengthen our partnership moving forward.

This morning, our Absolute Machine Tools team wrapped up Employee Ownership Month with a festive Halloween breakfast!

Team members at our Lorain, OH headquarters gathered for breakfast, our Mason, OH office celebrated together, and even our sales and service teams on the road joined in with their own morning treats.

Although our teams are often spread across states and time zones, we remain one connected ESOP—united by our shared goals, ownership mindset, and commitment to helping manufacturers succeed!

At Absolute, being employee-owned means every team member has a seat at the table...today that table was filled with pancakes.

Hands-on 5-Axis Training at Absolute!

Our team is working with an APEC factory engineer from Taiwan this week for advanced training on the APEC MT-1530-5S 5-Axis High-Speed Bridge Mill.

We’re diving deep into Heidenhain CNC control, mastering tilted work planes, Blum tool and part probing, and advanced 5-axis functions — all to deliver the precision and performance our customers expect.

New to Swiss-type turning centers? We've got you covered.

This first-time Swiss customer in Oklahoma had zero experience with Swiss machining but wanted to bring some of their parts in-house. Absolute Machine Tools delivered a complete turnkey solution—including programming, tooling, workholding, part run-off, and inspection—all before the machine ships to their facility, giving them the ability to hit the ground running from day one.

It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of our colleague and friend, Scott Gilbert, who may have represented you as your Sales Engineer here at Absolute Machine Tools or through Direc Machine Tool.

Scott was a valued member of our team and served our customers with dedication, professionalism, and genuine care.

We know many of you built strong relationships with him, and this loss will be felt not only by us, but also by those of you who had the pleasure of working with him.

Exciting progress is underway at Absolute Machine Tools' headquarters in Lorain, Ohio! We're expanding with a 26,000 sq. ft. warehouse addition to boost our machinery inventory and accelerate delivery times for our Midwest and East Coast customers.

President, Steve Ortner, VP of Sales, Klaus Miller, and Director of Service & Applications Engineering, David Zunis, are breaking ground to commemorate the first day of construction!

Over the past two days, we had the opportunity to host comprehensive sales training sessions at both our Lorain, OH headquarters and our Mason, OH technical center.

Through in-depth lectures, as well as live machine tool and automation demonstrations, our sales team and distributor partners gained a deeper understanding of machine capabilities, key features, ways to align solutions with customer needs.

We are proud to invest in the growth and expertise of our team—and even more excited to see that knowledge put into action.

This past January, Absolute was honored to sponsor Jace—a talented young fi****ms enthusiast—and his father to attend SHOT Show 2025 in Las Vegas. Jace used the trip to connect with industry leaders, earning sponsorships that support his journey as a semi-professional pistol shooter competing across the East Coast this summer. He’ll be proudly representing Steel Challenge Shooting Association, United States Practical Shooting Association, and brands like C&H Precision, SDS Arms, and Target Sports USA.
