Each Fire Safe Virtual Expo is free and open to the public, and will include live presentations diving into each business’ wildfire solutions, as well as an interactive Q&A session.

Colorado: 50% MATCH wildfire mitigation costs! 🌲🚜🏡

Wildfire mitigation gets easier when communities help share the cost.

Douglas County - Government is bringing back a program that can match homeowner mitigation work at 50%, helping fund defensible space and hazard reduction before peak season. For homeowners and HOAs, this is a good reminder to look for local cost-share and chipping programs early in the year.

Application Period: The next application period is open from April 13, 2026, to May 13, 2026.

Funding: The county will cover up to $5,000 per property and $25,000 for community projects.

Community Projects: The program also supports community projects, with a total of $50,000 available for community chipping or slash pickup.
