Dear East Texas Community,
For nearly 60 years our family business has had the honor of providing commercial ice equipment sales, service and leasing to the outstanding community of East Texas! That kind of longevity in today's world, for a small mom-and-pop shop, is becoming more rare every day. But, thanks to the loyalty and support of this community, we had the privilege of making it to third-generation owner-operators, and even a few fourth-generation part-time helpers, and we are forever grateful for that.
Sometimes, there comes a point where you must assess where you've been and where you're going, and consider the many changes in industries, workforce, and economy, and make some hard decisions and changes that will ultimately benefit all, and that are part of a bigger plan.
After much diligence, and countless hours of meetings, we are excited to officially announce that Easy Ice, a national commercial ice machine rental and service company, has taken over ownership of Wholesale Supply, Inc., as of April 1st.
Our customers and community are incredibly important to us, so allow us to speak candidly:
A transition of this magnitude for our family business has been a massive undertaking. And while we desperately wanted to reach out and personally call each one of our customers, it simply wasn't feasible. It doesn't make it any less important, but due to time constraints, there simply weren’t enough hours in the day. We sincerely hope you understand. Every single customer has been a part of our legacy, and this "letter" is the best way we know how to communicate the love and respect and gratitude we have for each and every one of you.
When you've personally cared for your customers for decades, passing the baton to someone new can seem daunting, to say the least. However, we want you to know we would not turn our family business over to just anyone. The Easy Ice team we've been working with all have industry backgrounds very similar to ours. Many grew up in shops just like ours, working summers for family ice companies, and the like. It felt like the perfect transition for us to be able to step down as owner-operators and allow a like-minded company to step in and continue providing the same level of customer service as we have for so many years. The same service technicians that have served you over the years are still going to be serving you, along with some new faces.
We want each customer to know how much your business has meant to us. You have provided for numerous families for decades and generations. Our Dad used to tell us all the time that it was the Wholesale Supply staff and customers who put shoes on our feet, food on the table, and much, much more, and we grew up grateful for that, and thank you once again.
It's been an honor East Texas. You are in good hands. And we will see you around!
