💧 **CADDO LAKE LOSES HOW MUCH WATER TO EVAPORATION?!** 😳
Here's another interesting little tidbit from my research into the proposed data centers and their potential impact on Caddo Lake. According to historical evaporation data, Caddo Lake loses an estimated -- 30.3 BILLION GALLONS of water annually through natural evaporation alone! --
Now compare that to STACK Infrastructure's projected -- 57 MILLION gallons annually --. That's approximately -- 532 TIMES MORE WATER -- lost naturally to evaporation than STACK claims its facility will use!
And here's the kicker... THOSE NUMBERS DON'T EVEN INCLUDE WATER FLOWING INTO CADDO LAKE from Lake O' the Pines, other tributaries, rainfall, etc.
Now, before somebody gets carried away, evaporation isn't the same as industrial withdrawals, and drought conditions still matter. I'm certainly not suggesting otherwise. But if we're going to have an intelligent discussion about these data centers supposedly draining Caddo Lake, shouldn't we at least understand the numbers? 🤔
**Facts and math are pesky things, aren't they?** 😉
