The second of only three locations of Oak Hill Automotive approximately 1975 until Feb 1991. This was the location that launched the crankshaft grinding super star Clarke Watts Sr. With alittle help from Ai we get to step back in time. Fun fact, my dad delivered 100 cranks at a time in a 63 crew cab truck, complete with s**g carpet inside. Do You have a crankshaft story from this location?

Thankful for all our great customers. Brian has been busy one after the other making repairs, rewiring, tuning.

Another one back on the road. Front floor patch job and a new battery had it back up and going. Ended with windshields being replaced with customer supplied chipped glass. Bought and stored 4 years so who knows when the damage happened.

Aircooled………mostly………..well kinda! Engine filled with fuel into the oil and ran until the thrust bearing was welding itself to the crankshaft. Endplay shims were sticking together and cupped as well.

Andy’s 76x90.5 buggy engine. Should run just a bit better than the 1600 he had.

6 volt flywheel with near perfect teeth, machined and back in circulation. Looks like art!

Oak Hill VW family getting it done. Congrats to Lorrie on her first win. Even more special Rick won the pro class on the same night! Way to go Tarter family. Proud of what Y’all accomplished!

1963 chassis restoration. Lower frame head rust repair, new floorpans, new fuel line ran. Now the fun can begin………..

1976 westy coming back to life (17years off the road)
1963 chassis restore started (pans & t-head bottom completed)
