What you don’t see in a concrete slab is what makes it strong.
Anthony Fielding and Aziz Mikhail, our field inspectors, take you behind the scenes to break down how rebar and post-tensioning (PT) strands work together. Rebar is set at specific heights using supports, while PT cables are placed higher and lower throughout the slab to create a wave-like profile based on the design. Aziz ensures the rebar is at the correct height, grade, size, and that the PT cables are placed where required and the type of PT cable utilized.
After the concrete is poured and reaches the required strength, the PT cables are stretched using a hydraulic jack, anchored into place, and sealed for protection. This process adds critical strength and helps the slab perform over time.
It’s a quick look at the precision, expertise, and care that go into every project we touch.
