Meet our team in Baton Rouge.

For 20 years they’ve been working to deliver resilient solutions for the communities they call home.

It’s a tight knit team which thrives on bringing their passion for Baton Rouge and Louisiana to every project and improving resilience where they live and work, and where many studied.

From early careers graduates to engineers with decades of experience, they combine local knowledge with expertise in engineering, landscape architecture, urban planning, design and architecture. They design solutions that can help protect the city and surrounding area for decades to come.

As we look forward to the next 20 years, please join us in congratulating the team on this anniversary.

Charleston is planning major updates that will shape the peninsula's future for decades, from housing and zoning to resilience and mobility.

On May 18, Moffatt & Nichol's Jared Bramblett will join local planners, designers, and civic leaders at the Historic Charleston Foundation Advocacy Forum to discuss how Charleston can grow while protecting the character and livability that make the city unique. Jared will bring a flood resilience lens to the conversation, making the case that the Peninsula's future depends on understanding where water was, where it's going, and how the generational projects underway today can be designed to work with water rather than against it.

The forum is free and open to the public, and community input is encouraged. Registration is required due to limited space.

The Montebello Grade Separation project reached another milestone with substantial completion of the at-grade improvements at the South Vail Ave, South Maple Ave, and Greenwood Ave rail crossings within the City of Montebello.

While on site for the celebration, the team observed continued progress on the broader grade separation work, including installation of the majority of Cast In Drilled Hole walls and preparation of the first half of the Union Pacific Railroad bridge. The upcoming work will support a temporary shift of rail traffic onto the newly completed portion of the bridge, allowing construction to continue on the remaining half of the structure. The final transition to the new alignment is currently scheduled for October 2026.

This project represents another major grade separation effort delivered in a dense urban environment with active rail operations.

This week we’re in Valencia, Spain, for the Container Terminal Automation Conference.

Our team, including Christian Blauert, George Saad, Ph.D., P.E. and Bart Vermeer, are on stage and on the ground, as the sector comes together to discuss both developments and challenges for terminal operators.

They are joined by the team from our operational digital twin NextPort.AI – come by NextPort’s stand to meet both teams and chat about how we can support your needs.

It has been 20 years since we opened our office in Baton Rouge, and the team is going from strength to strength in community resilience projects.

We have a collective of engineers, landscape architects, and planners who are rooted in the city and care deeply about bringing local knowledge and perspectives to projects, alongside technical excellence.

We are also immensely lucky to be able to recruit from outstanding local universities and foster the next generation of professionals who will develop thoughtful solutions to ongoing challenges Baton Rouge and Louisiana face in community resilience.

Cruise ports are under more pressure than ever to do more with less space, tighter schedules, evolving passenger expectations, and growing resilience needs. That is why Seatrade Cruise Global remains such an important conversation for the industry.

Stop by booth #651 to talk with our team about what comes next for your facility. Whether you are planning a new terminal, improving passenger circulation, expanding berth capacity, or preparing for future sea level rise, we bring experience helping cruise ports move projects from planning through design and construction.

Our team in Exeter, UK, had the pleasure of welcoming local MP Steve Race to see our newly expanded offices in the city, reflecting the growth of Moffatt & Nichol’s flood and coastal risk management work.

Hosted by our Europe engineering lead Andy Burton, Mr Race met our sector-leading team, including past and present degree apprentices from Exeter University, who are now working with clients from across the world on projects at the forefront of research and modeling in terms of flood risk, coastal management and resilience.

Moffatt & Nichol’s work in the south west includes the rebuild of Exmouth’s sea wall through to reviewing the future resilience of the iconic Cobb at Lyme Regis Harbour.

At a national and international level our in-depth expertise is sought across the public and private sectors, with the Environment Agency using our data for its new national coastal erosion risk maps.

At the ITS Southeast Summit, transportation leaders are exploring how real-time data can make highways safer and traffic flow smoother. Moffatt & Nichol is a session sponsor for “Harnessing Data for Automated Operations for Safer Highways”. The session highlights how connected vehicle data, automated alerts, and queue warning systems help agencies detect incidents faster, coordinate signals, and improve responses across the network.

We look forward to connecting with attendees and sharing how emerging technology is shaping safer, more efficient highways.
