This is the first of many locations planned across Alabama, expanding access to advanced spinal motion imaging for:

Most life care planners have never picked up a scalpel. This guest still does, regularly.

It's an uncomfortable truth in this industry: a lot of life care plans are built by people who've never actually treated the injury they're planning around. Nurses and consultants are doing important work, but working from records and literature, not the OR.

Dr. Michael Venezia is the exception. He's a board-certified orthopedic spine surgeon at Florida Orthopaedic Institute, actively operating, actively treating patients, and building the life care plans himself. On this episode of The Med-Legal Greenroom, he pointed out just how uncommon that combination still is.

The result: roadmaps built on the same clinical reasoning he uses in surgery, not secondhand interpretation of someone else's chart notes.

When you're evaluating an expert witness, how much weight do you put on whether they're still actively practicing versus consulting full-time?

Dr. Michael Venezia, board-certified orthopedic spine surgeon and certified life care planner at Florida Orthopaedic Institute, faces this exact challenge in nearly every case he takes on. His solution isn't more jargon or more certainty. It's a mindset shift.

"We are educators." Not advocates performing for one side, educators, full stop. His job, as he describes it in this episode of The Med-Legal Greenroom, is to make sure the patient, the attorney, the opposing counsel, the judge, and the jury all walk away understanding the same thing: what the injury is, why the treatment makes sense, and what the medicine actually supports.

That's the difference between an expert who gets dismissed as biased and one who becomes the most trusted voice in the room.

For the attorneys and providers here: how do you translate technical findings for an audience that doesn't share your background? Is "educator" the right frame, or is there a better one?

In this clip from The Med-Legal Greenroom, Dr. Michael Venezia, board-certified spine surgeon and certified life care planner at Florida Orthopaedic Institute, gets real about something most expert witnesses won't say out loud: medicine doesn't come with certainty, and pretending otherwise is what gets experts backed into a corner.

His take? Stay open to what can't be explained. Educate, don't overclaim. Give the most likely reason and the most likely outcome, not a guarantee.

Garrett Ewers, CEO of Rejuv Medical, was asked repeatedly why he stayed at a company that had let him go four times.

His answer: a patient who had three miscarriages, and then, after working with his team, delivered healthy twins.

That's the kind of result that redefines what healthcare is actually capable of.

In this clip from The Med-Legal Greenroom Podcast, Garrett shares the patient outcomes and clinic transformations that made 14 years, and every hard moment, worth it.

115+ clinics coached. Surgeries avoided. Practices saved from closing.

This is real-world proof that integrative medicine works, and that mission-driven leadership gets results.

In this episode of The Med-Legal Greenroom, host Sam Frentzas is joined by Dr. Michael Venezia, board-certified orthopedic spine surgeon, certified life care planner, and medical expert with Florida Orthopaedic Institute, for a candid conversation on what separates a defensible life care plan from one that gets picked apart on the stand.

Key takeaways from the conversation:

โ†’ A life care plan is a data-backed "roadmap" of future care, and every line item needs a reproducible, scientifically defensible source behind it.
โ†’ Regional cost variation matters: care has to be priced for where the patient actually lives.
โ†’ For providers stepping into expert work: know your lane. Speak with authority on what you treat, and defer where you don't.
โ†’ For attorneys: the strongest experts are the ones who give you the hard truths up front, not just what you want to hear.
โ†’ Dr. Venezia's guiding principle: "Plan for the patient, not the verdict. If you get the medicine right, the defensibility takes care of itself."

This is a must-listen for personal injury attorneys, insurers, and treating providers navigating spinal injury cases.

THE GO-TO DESTINATION FOR ADVANCED SPINAL IMAGING IN NORTHERN CALIFORNIA.

In this episode of The Med Legal Greenroom, your host Sam Frentzas speaks with Dr. Alexandre De Moura, founder of the New York Spine Institute, about how Vertebral Motion Analysis (VMAยฎ) is revolutionizing spine diagnostics.

Unlike traditional X-rays and MRIs that capture the spine in a static position, VMAยฎ reveals what happens when the spine actually moves, helping uncover instability and abnormalities conventional imaging miss.

Dr. Alexandre De Moura explains how seeing the spine in motion can lead to more confident diagnoses, better treatment decisions, and fewer unnecessary procedures, changing outcomes for patients while providing valuable objective information for physicians, and personal injury attorneys.

The conversation also explores the New York Spine Instituteโ€™s comprehensive approach to spine care, bringing advanced diagnostics, physical therapy, interventional treatment, and surgery together around one goal:

Finding the real problem, choosing the right treatment, and changing patientsโ€™ lives.

If youโ€™re an attorney looking for objective evidence that can strengthen your clientโ€™s case, or a provider treating a patient whose pain generator remains unclear, donโ€™t settle for another best guess.

Dr. De Moura's vision is changing people's lives, changing personal injury outcomes, spinal diagnoses, and treatment options with VMAยฎ. Stay tuned for more upcoming episodes featuring Dr. De Moura.

In this clip from The Med-Legal Greenroom Podcast, Dr. Patrick Roth, Founder of New Jersey Brain and Spine, explains the test most patients have never heard of:

The SPECT scan doesn't just show anatomy. It actually LIGHTS UP areas of inflammation, showing where pain is actually being generated, not just where things look abnormal.

Layer it over an MRI. Combine it with a CT. Suddenly that "elusive pain generator" isn't so elusive.

Have you (or a patient of yours) ever had a "clean" MRI but still been in real pain?

๐ŸŽ The first 10 people to DM "Dr. Roth" get their choice of one of his 4 books, including "The End of Back Pain" and "Managing Back Pain For Dummies."
