Fall has arrived and cooler temperatures are just around the corner, as we brace ourselves for winter and freezing temperatures, it’s time to think about how you can keep your car running without any major issues. Aside from the usual vehicle maintenance checks and regular servicing, you can’t ignore checking your antifreeze; Most car owners know that they need to change their oil every 5,000 miles or so, but how often should you change and/or check your antifreeze?
A general rule is to check your engine coolant at least twice a year or every 30,000 miles.
The best way to know if your antifreeze solution needs to be topped off or replaced is to have a trustworthy mechanic check the level or keep an eye on the color of the fluid; if it's dark brown or rusty, that means it's time to replace it!
