Montana “Tanna” Hein, Senior Automation Engineer, has been a pillar of H2E’s Automation Team for nearly 15 years. Originally from Polson, Montana; Tanna joined H2E shortly after receiving her degree in Electrical Engineering from Montana Tech of the University of Montana. With a career-long specialization in Hydroelectric control systems and a love for Mining, Environmental Remediation, and Water Treatment processes; Tanna has developed comprehensive expertise in applying H2E’s quality system to a wide range of support applications.
As a founding member of H2E’s Helena, Montana office, Tanna has supported many of our Montana based Client Facilities through multiple phases of upgrades as both Client Manager and Engineer, “I work with hydroelectric facilities that upgraded their control systems over a decade ago with H2E; now, as we integrate new equipment, we can improve their operational efficiency with an understanding of how the facility has evolved and what they aim to achieve in the future.” This depth of facility-specific knowledge has enabled Tanna to consult on not only design and integration, but on development and process planning as a partner to the facilities H2E supports.
Having seen not only our Clients, but also H2E through many phases of expansion, Tanna has advanced the culture of quality that H2E strives for, “I love how much we learn through a project, everyone here is curious about each eventuality of a system; anyone can make a process work, its figuring out how the system responds to failure that is the interesting part.” As a Senior Engineer, Tanna has imbued her attitude of meticulous attention to detail and deeper level understanding throughout H2E’s project team culture and our application of standards.
When not on a Client site or at the office, Tanna spends her time hiking, hunting and racing around Western Montana with her husband and two children.
