New from Versatile: 5375 Chemical Resistant Urethane.

Chemical exposure is one of the hardest things to bid, because "it gets cleaned a lot" can mean almost anything. 5375 is the ideal topcoat when the answer turns out to be caustic cleaners, solvents, oil, or all three. We tested it against acetone, xylene, ammonia, motor oil, gasoline, and hot tire, and none of them left a lasting mark.

It's a high-gloss urethane that cleans up easy, which matters in kitchens, labs, and processing floors where the customer is mopping it every night. Run it on its own or as the topcoat over a sealed flake system. Comes in 1.5 and 15 gallon kits.

Blue Moon Concrete Coatings ran Versatile's Lava Flow on this one, and the movement in the pour is the whole job. Metallic work lives or dies on how the pigment gets worked before it sets, and there's no second pass to fix it once you've lost your window. Blue Moon kept the flow consistent corner to corner in a space this size, which is the hard part.

Lava Flow is Versatile's metallic system, sold as a complete assembly so the primer, the metallic coat, and the topcoat are specified to work together. Worth noting on a floor like this one: anything with vehicles parked on it needs hot tire resistance in the topcoat, and that decision gets made when you're building the system, not after the customer calls you about lifting.

A solid color floor shows you everything. There's no flake to hide a roller mark, a lap line, or a spot where the film went thin, so the whole job comes down to prep and a coating that lays down flat. This one did both.

Versatile's 4195 Direct-to-Concrete Pigmented Epoxy is formulated to bond straight to prepared concrete, so you're building color and film in the same pass instead of running a clear primer first and coming back. That's one less coat and one less labor cycle on the schedule. It still starts at the slab, though. Test for moisture v***r before you quote, because that reading decides whether 4195 goes down direct or whether the system needs a moisture-blocking primer under it, and no topcoat outruns a wet slab.
