Job Title: Yard Technician – Auto Salvage Yard
Location: Balows hwy 7 auto salvage
Employment Type: Full time Monday-Thursday

About the Role:
We’re looking for a dependable, hard-working Yard Technician to join our auto salvage team. This is a physically active role that involves removing parts from vehicles, operating car crushing equipment, and performing basic equipment maintenance. If you know your way around vehicles and have your own tools, we want to hear from you. Cash bonuses and gas refills are a few of many benefits.

Key Responsibilities:
• Safely remove usable parts from salvage vehicles for resale
• Operate vehicle crusher and other yard equipment as needed
• Perform routine maintenance on yard tools and machinery
• Organize and maintain work area and parts inventory
• Identify and tag removed parts correctly
• Assist with loading/unloading vehicles and general yard duties

Requirements:
• Solid knowledge of vehicle components and mechanical systems
• Must have your own tools
• Experience using hand and power tools
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Physically fit – able to lift heavy parts and perform manual labor
• Forklift or equipment operating experience is a plus
• Dependable, safety-conscious, and able to work independently

Schedule:
Monday- Thursday full time

Compensation:
Starting wage $15-$25 an hour. Pay is negotiable based off experience.

Job Title: Counter Sales Associate – Salvage Yard
Location: Balows hwy 7 auto salvage
Employment Type: Full-time

About the Role:
We are seeking a motivated and customer-oriented Counter Sales Associate to join our team at a busy salvage yard. In this role, you’ll assist customers at the counter with locating and purchasing used auto parts, process transactions, and ensure a positive experience for every customer who walks through our doors.

Key Responsibilities:
• Greet and assist customers in person and over the phone
• Help customers identify and locate used automotive parts
• Provide accurate information on part availability, pricing, and condition
• Handle sales transactions using a POS system (cash, credit, etc.)
• Maintain an organized and clean counter and waiting area
• Coordinate with yard staff to confirm part inventory and availability
• Restock display items and update inventory as needed
• Assist with returns and resolve customer issues professionally
• Package and prepare parts for shipping

Qualifications:
• Previous experience in auto parts sales, retail, or a salvage yard is a plus
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Basic knowledge of automotive parts and vehicles is highly preferred
• Comfortable using computers and basic point-of-sale systems
• Able to multitask in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
• Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented

Schedule:
Monday-Thursday full time
Compensation: Starting wage $15-$25 an hour depending on qualifications

Just informed Xcel Energy will be taking our power down from 9:00AM until possibly 1:00PM. We will try to assist any customers that come in. Our phones and computers will be down.

Last Friday night September 20th our daughter Cassie & Husband Noah’s best man / best friend passed away in a tragic motorcycle accident on Hwy 7 & 44 around 11:00pm.

John Hommer is one of the good guys and has passed away to soon at the young age of 24 years old. Prayers go out to John’s soul mate / future wife Lauren, family and friends. John’s infectious smile, go getter attitude, and give the shirt off of his back for a person in need will be missed by everyone.

With the tragic news about John Hommer opens a door to give back to his legacy that was cut way too short. A go fund me page has been set up to help out John’s future wife and family. Your prayers and donations are very much appreciated.

Ever wonder how our brave firemen train for the life saving techniques they need just in case you or a loved one has an unfortunate car accident ? The following videos are of the New Germany Fire Department using the life saving tools needed for just that reason.

A few times a year we donate vehicles to Winsted, Lester Prairie, and Winsted fire departments to stay razor sharp on their life saving techniques and use the tools equipped to do so. Videos were taken at our salvage yard Balow’s Hwy 7 Auto Say, Inc. Enjoy the videos
