How much tractor do you actually need? 🚜

It's the #1 question we get — and the honest answer usually isn't "more horsepower." It's about the JOBS on your list. Here's the quick cheat sheet Florida property owners can use:

🟢 Mostly mowing + light chores on a smaller lot → 1 or 2 Series (sub-compact / compact). Easy to run, easy to store, plenty of tractor for the work.

🟢 Loader work, a box blade, grading the drive, 5–20 acres → 3 Series (like this 3038E). The sweet spot for most Florida homesteads and hobby farms.

🟢 Heavy loader days, hay, bigger implements, real acreage → 4 Series and up.

The trap is buying on horsepower alone. Match the machine to the tasks — the right size saves you money up front AND gets the job done without straining a tractor that's too small for it.

It starts with spinach.

A protein that spinach makes naturally — called defensin — has just cleared EPA as a treatment for citrus greening. Researchers reprogrammed a harmless strain of a virus already living in most Florida citrus trees so the tree produces the peptide itself. No change to the tree's DNA.

Fifteen years of work behind it, out of the University of Florida, Texas A&M and Southern Gardens Citrus. Developer Silvec Biologics says Florida growers are first in line, starting late 2026 through the CRAFT program.

We're not the scientists on this one — we just figured Florida grove owners would want to see it.
