CGI Inc. is looking for a mechanical project engineer to work on plant process design projects. Selected applicants will be responsible for:
communicating directly with client’s process engineers to obtain and track information needed for detailed design;
locate and interpret applicable design standards and specifications;
performing engineering analysis on various subjects including piping stress analysis, fluid flow calculations, and preliminary structural calculations;
managing design packages including process & instrument diagrams (P&IDs), civil, structural, and piping drawings and;
coordinating design packages with design personnel.
Experience
2-5+ years’ experience in engineering projects desired. Will also consider entry level candidates. Any experience in process plants or heavy industrial construction would be helpful.
Requirements
This position requires strong mechanical aptitude and organizational skills. Working knowledge of process flow diagrams, piping & instrument diagrams, equipment arrangements, piping system design, and design specifications is preferred. Experience with process plant design and typical construction methods is desirable.
Applicants should be team players, detail oriented, organized and self-driven.
Basic knowledge of AutoCAD and working knowledge of MS Excel & MS Word is required. CGI will additionally train qualified applicant.
Education
B.S. in Mechanical Engineering is preferred but strong consideration will be given to other degrees based on actual project experience. CGI Inc. will also consider other backgrounds based on industry experience.
