Here are some pics of a Caterpillar 18M3 grader circle, drawbar & blade hanger we rebuilt. The entire circle assembly was disassembled so each piece could be checked for cracks, prepped & welded where needed. All the bores as well as any machined surfaces were machined to true them up, then built back up with welding material. The parts were then final machined to spec. The complete circle & drawbar assembly is then reassembled with all new parts. Final testing is performed to ensure the circle travels in both directions as it should as well as all the other hydraulics function as they should.

Here are some pics of a Caterpillar 793F Mesabi Radiator in the assembly & pressure testing stages. One of our 4th generation youngsters is having her hand at reinstalling the individual Mesabi radiator tubes into the new rubber grommet seals. After all the individual MESABI radiator tubes are installed the complete radiator assembly is submerged in our test tank to be pressure tested to ensure it has zero leaks. The completed cooling package was then delivered back to our customers mine site.

We spent this first week of June 2026 in Elko, Nv. for the Elko Mining Expo. We exhibited for our first time to get our name out there in the heart of Nevada’s mining industry. We started the expo off with the golf tournament on Tuesday at the Ruby View Golf Course which is always a good time. Next we attended the NVMA’s (Nevada Mining Association) opening reception where we met up with long time friends & partners Amanda Hilton (president of the NVMA-Nevada Mining Association), Brent Adams & Scot Cochrane (both with Komatsu) just to name a few. After the NVMA’s reception was the opening reception back at the Ruby View Golf Courses club house which was sponsored by Liebherr. The expo itself started off with our collaboration with Derek Grover & Dino Brunson of Mining Minds in which we sponsored their opening Podcast for the Expo. It was a great sit down listening to the guests. Vern Goglio with Cementation & his 51 years of mining experience & wisdom, Amanda Hilton with her long reputation of being the first female general manager at KGHM’s Robinson Mine & currently the president of the NVMA & Don Dwyer who is the general manager of Orla Mining. Thursday night Jake Johnson invited us to Elko Wire & Ropes party before the Nate Smith Concert Under The Stars which was another great opportunity. The last day of the expo Mining Minds led the first Mining Poetry where not only the miners themselves but their families & friends were able to read poems that they had written which revealed the life behind the scenes of a miner. Hearing these poems from the miners as well as their families was eye opening & inspiring. A good time was had by all along with catching up with old friends & making new friends & business prospects alike.

Here are some before & after pics of a stationary heat exchanger assembly. This heat exchanger is used for the crusher at one of the mines. Inside the box shroud assembly is a flat fin heat exchanger that was leaking in the tube-to-header joints of the core. We re-cored the heat exchanger with a new heavy duty core. We also rebuilt the electric fan motor. Both the heat exchanger as well as the fan motor were tested to make sure they were leak free & functioning as they should.

Here are some pics of a hydraulic lift cylinder we have in for rebuilding and repair. The bore on the head end takes a spherical ball and race assembly. The bore as well as the snapring grooves that retain the spherical ball in place were damaged & worn. We set the cylinder up on our Rottler CNC boring & milling machine. We first located the correct bore center so we could machine the bore perfectly round & in the correct position. We then welded the bore up with our automatic bore welder. The bore was then machined to size for the new spherical ball bearing. We then located where the snapring grooves needed to be & machined them into the ID of the bore with circular interpolation on our Rottler CNC machine.

Here are some pics of a Caterpillar 994K Hardnose Cooling Package that came in on Friday 5-29-26. This is one is up there with one of the worst we’ve seen as far as external fouling & build-up of dirt, mud & debris. Over fifty percent of the modular radiator cores, or sections, are plugged solid externally within the fin nest. Not only are many of the fins plugged solid but the dirt is built up as thick as three eighths of an inch beyond the face of the fins & tubes in many areas. The leading edges of the fan blade are worn thinner than soda cans from being blasted so severely with dirt, sand & debris. We’ll post more on this project as it progresses.

Here are some pics of a Caterpillar 793F Mesabi Radiator Module Cooling Package we rebuilt. This one came to us in pretty rough shape. All the composite fan shroud pieces were cracked & fractured. Several of the threaded bolt holes were stripped out & there were several cracks in the fan guard mounting blocks as well as the fan guards themselves. Both the left & right side frames also had some cracks. This rebuild took quite a bit more time & man hours than a normal rebuild because of the prepping, welding & massaging to all the cracks that had to be addressed. We got all the repairs completed & a rigorous pressure test to make sure it is leak free & ready for another round of service.

Here are some pics of some tubular exhaust manifolds for a 944 Porsche. Our customer wanted them cleaned inside & out, checked out & ceramic coated. So we thermal cleaned them in our oven & then shotblasted them down to the raw cast iron metal. After they checked out good with no cracks they were prepped & ceramic coated with a high temperature high performance coating. The gun metal gray that our customer chose will keep the exhaust heat inside the exhaust reducing the underhood temperatures as well as giving a nice finishing touch to the appearance in the engine compartment.

Here are some before & after pics of a Caterpillar Excavator Radiator that came in for rebuilding. The radiator core was internally plugged along with some external damage which was causing the machine to overheat. We recommended recoring the radiator with a new heavy duty high efficiency core. Our customer agreed to recore the radiator per our recommendation. A final pressure test after assembling the radiator with the new core assured it has no leaks.
