Cindy is a seasoned entrepreneur and industry leader with a deep-rooted passion for metal fabrication and welding. As the driving force behind Torres Welding, Inc., she has built a reputation for delivering high-quality craftsmanship, precision, and innovative metalwork solutions tailored to clients' needs. Guided by the motto, "If you can imagine it, we can create it," Cindy brings creativity, expertise, and dedication to every project.
Her career in the building and construction industry has been shaped by her passion for craftsmanship, creativity, and making things happen. As the leader of Torres Welding, Inc. and a long-standing member of the Las Cruces Home Builders Association LCHBA/NMCA, Cindy has a deep appreciation for quality construction and community development. The ability to take an idea and turn it into something tangible—just like her business motto suggests—has been a driving force behind her success. With a hands-on approach, dedication to precision, and commitment to serving her community, Cindy continues to make a lasting impact in the industry.
Her favorite part of her role is bringing ideas to life—transforming imagination into reality through expert metal fabrication. She enjoys the creativity and problem-solving that come with the trade, as well as the ability to make things happen for her clients and her community. Beyond her professional work, Cindy’s passion for community involvement plays a significant role in her career. Whether it’s contributing to projects like the St. Genevieve monument or working with the Las Cruces Home Builders Association, she finds fulfillment in creating lasting impacts that benefit those around her.
Since 1983, Cindy has been actively involved with the Las Cruces Home Builders Association (LCHBA), serving as Vice President and contributing to numerous committees. She particularly enjoyed co-chairing the Home & Garden Show, an event that showcased craftsmanship, innovation, and community collaboration.
Under her leadership, Torres Welding, Inc. has become a trusted name in the industry, known for its commitment to excellence, safety, and customer satisfaction. Cindy’s dedication to her craft and her community continues to drive her success as she embraces new technologies and techniques to enhance her company’s capabilities.
Cindy is also incredibly proud of her family’s achievements. Her son, Steven, is a mechanical engineer with NASA, specializing in propulsion and management, and holds a master’s degree in mechanical engineering. Her youngest son, Dr. Anthony Torres, is a civil engineer with a PhD and a professor at Texas State University in Austin, TX, where he specializes in concrete and mentors PhD students toward success in their careers.
At the heart of Cindy’s journey is her husband, Sammy Torres. Married for 48 years, Sammy is not only her life partner but also the only person she considers her partner in business. Their shared dedication has been instrumental in the success of Torres Welding, Inc. Above all, Cindy treasures her role as a grandmother. She is incredibly proud of her two grandsons, who recently turned five, and finds great joy in watching them grow and thrive.
