As January 2026 comes to an end, I want to sincerely thank all of our employees for your dedication and hard work.
The length of these snow events and the extreme cold temperatures resulted in a major increase in service demands—often requiring two or even three visits per day. Even “dusting” events created hazardous conditions that lasted for hours. To stay ahead of it, we were spreading salt at double and triple the normal rates.
More than once, just as we followed the radar and it looked safe to salt and wind things down, another band or two would roll in unexpectedly and cover everything back up.
Without a doubt, this has been the busiest month of snow events we’ve experienced in nearly 25 years. These conditions take a toll, but our team stayed strong, got it done, and continued to deliver. They adapted and overcame.
To our loyal customers—thank you for your patience and support. You truly make our job better.
The rest of the season looks like it may be warmer, but we know there is still plenty of snow ahead. Even with salt supplies being unavailable to the commercial sector, we’ve been able to adjust and secure enough to carry us through the season (we hope 🙏) at an additional cost to everyone.
The attached photo was sent to me this morning from one of our incredible team members, proud of the work he had just completed. This area was cleaned up in a “real feel” of -2°F, and thanks to staying up on salt, we were able to get it down to pavement. Many sites around Mid-Michigan are snow covered and will continue to be for days. Not only does salt make sites safer—it also has major benefits for plowing.
Thank you, thank you, thank you. Bring on spring ~ Team Land Visions
