Using the Bore Repair Systems, Inc. BOA-C45 lineboring system as a portable drill press today. The new drill bar and extended tack plate is being used along with a Jacob’s Chuck with #3 Morse taper. For single point bore cutting / machining there is a pair of 1/2” broached tool ports on the other end of the “drill bar”. Today’s line bore repair job using the BOA-C45 linebore system by Bore Repair Systems, Inc. is taking place on a Hitachi Euclid R35 haul truck. Front suspension bores being repaired are approx 6” (152mm) in diameter. The popular USA made model BOA-C45 linebore system is part of the top selling BRS2c integrated line boring / bore welding package. In standard form the BRS2c can repair bores from 1.9” (48mm) to 10” (254mm) in diameter. The BRS2C linebore borewelder systems BOA-C45 line bore rig hogging out some VERY worn out Hitachi 200LC excavator boom bores, so they’ll be ready for borewelding with the BOA-408i bore welder then machining back to size for new bushings.

We get asked how to change over from lineboring after the base metal clean up cut to boreweld mode. Here are the basic steps:
1. Remove cutting bit 2. Dis-engage the feed arm from feed screw 3. Slide bar out of bore to be welded 4. Loosen clamp and remove bar support bearing 5. Install BOA-408i borewelder 6. Tighten clamp to secure borewelder 7. Loosen spindle clamp and position bore weld head into far end of bore that is to be welded 8. Attach wire feed conduit to BOA-408i 9. Attach wire feed conduit to MIG welder feeder 10. Attach power cord to BOA-408i borewelder. In next post we’ll show pics and video of the welding. Note: We’ll be using one of the extremely popular “micro inverter mig” setups made by Fronius Austria. These are available set up custom for your Bore Repair Systems, Inc. BOA-408i borewelder - custom kit number K15.10. The unit runs on 110v or 208/240v power! Super handy and yes it has plenty of duty cycle to handle borewelding all day even when using 110v mode!

The Bore Repair Systems, Inc. BRS2C line boring bore welding system refurbishing the worn bores on this John Deere 350G. Bores needed a couple of passes of weld applied to replace enough of the worn steel to allow machining back to the original diameter.

Just a little action on a bucket bore here at Bore Repair Systems, Inc. NH facility. Borewelder running is the BOA-408i and the power supply/feeder being used to power the BOA-408i is our Kit # K94.49 Micro Inverter. We stock these units and they’ve been a real hit with our clients who do a lot of field bore repair work due to their extreme portability and excellent arc characteristics as well as their power. They run off 120v and 240v power.
