When it comes to damage prevention programs for oil and gas pipelines, proper maintenance is one of the most is critical components to ensure pipelines are functioning properly.

1️⃣ CREATE A VALVE SYSTEM MAP & GUIDEBOOK FOR EMERGENCIES — The map shows the location of the valves, and the guidebook shows the size, type, location description, and related note.

2️⃣ STOCK THE CORRECT GREASE GUN FITTINGS - Different valves often require distinct grease or lubrication fittings. Have spare fittings for each type available in your toolbox.

3️⃣ LUBRICATE THE PLUG ON OLDER VALVES — to avoid the l**e sealant from "lifting" the plug and forcing it away from the metal seal.
