The UNEX Roadshow made a meaningful stop in Austin, TX, with Cisco Eagle at Austin Lighthouse for the Blind.

Austin Lighthouse for the Blind, also known as Travis Association for the Blind, is a nonprofit organization that creates employment opportunities for Texans who are blind or visually impaired. Visiting their facility allowed our team to connect directly with end users, better understand the challenges they face in their daily operations, and discuss how UNEX solutions can support safer workflows.

When temperature-sensitive SKUs are stored in cold box and freezer areas, picking can quickly become time-consuming, uncomfortable, and inefficient.

Thermo Fisher Scientific needed a better way to improve pick efficiency and accuracy while reducing the time employees spent working in extreme temperatures.

By installing about 1,600 linear feet of UNEX SpanTrack Bed, the Maryland plant created organized storage for 2,000 fast-moving, temperature-sensitive SKUs and improved pick efficiency by more than 45%.

Last week, we celebrated Bob Mitchell as he begins his well-deserved retirement after 26 years of service in our Maintenance Department.

Bob has been a valued member of the UNEX team, and we are grateful for his dedication, hard work, and many contributions over the years.
