🏁 WEEKEND WAR STORIES: GUESS THIS TRACK 🏁

Before we say the name… who remembers this place?

This track sat right here in Lakeland, Florida and was once home to some serious short track racing. The facility became known as USA International Speedway, a fast 3/4-mile paved oval with 14-degree banking. It opened in the mid-1990s and brought in a lot of big-name short track racers, touring series, and future stars over the years.

Like a lot of great race tracks, it eventually disappeared. The final race was held in 2008, and today the property looks a whole lot different than it did when racecars were rolling through the gates.

Today’s video is all about quick change gears — how to look at the gear sets, understand what you’re working with, and calculate your final gear ratio when you don’t have a chart handy.

Quick change gears can look confusing at first, but once you understand how the top and bottom gears work together, it becomes a lot easier to make the right gear call at the track.

Whether you’re trying to fine-tune RPM, adjust for track size, or just make sure you know what ratio is in the car, this is a great one for racers to watch.
