The downtown vibe at the Lake Worth Street Painting Festival is keeping us energized as we wrap up a proposal today.

What a difference a day makes! Since yesterday, Lake Worth’s downtown has come alive with talented artists, festival goers, friendly dogs (and even birds), and every type of festival or fair food you can imagine.

The Lake Worth Street Painting Festival is a signature event of this vibrant small municipality. It was nice to take a break from proposal writing at the office to enjoy lunch and a walk through the festival with our friend Don.

It was great to see some old friends making art. Bob, along with Joanne, and Jeffrey are regulars at this event, and we always look forward to seeing them and their work. They are incredibly generous in sharing the gift of their art, and responding to questions from festival goers.

Ice Cream Stroll

SFEC’s office is one block off Lake Avenue in downtown Lake Worth. A nice afternoon break today included ice cream and a stroll along Lake and Lucerne avenues to view preparations for this weekend’s Lake Worth Street Painting Festival.

The festival - a signature event in South Florida - is in its 25th year, and it gets bigger and better every year. This weekend, over 600 artists will use colored chalks to turn the main streets through town into a temporary gallery of art. We like the 3-D illusionist works, and there will be large-scale contemporary and traditional works as well.

Come out and meet the artists, mingle with the art lovers, enjoy music on the main stage, and get your fill of festival food. Best of all, admission is free!
