This 350 warrior head needed new guides so we drilled them out with a drill/reamer. Installed the new guides and reamed/honed them. Since we changed the guides out the seats got a touch up with the seat grinder and the valves were ground.

Here’s a video of a surface job on a GEN V 5.3 head. Both heads were machined to the same height and had new valve springs and valve seals installed.

Since the jugs are surfaced the next step was to remove wore guides and seats and install new. On this jug we changed two guides. The rest were still in spec. Changed one exhaust seat as well. Other jug received 2 seats and 2 guides.

After installing the new sleeves in these Wisconsin jugs the sleeves needed to be trimmed down to be ready for surfacing. With trimming these sleeves I like to end up as close as .002 to the deck to make surfacing a 1 pass operation.

These Wisconsin jugs came in with extreme wear in the cylinders. Bore wear was up to .044 bigger than the piston. In this video we are boring the cylinder out to accept a repair sleeve. All bores on these jugs had repair sleeves installed.

This John Deere gator clutch had a manufacturing defect that needed a quick fix. The internal tapered bore that fits the end of the crankshaft wasn’t machined deep enough to fit the crankshaft properly. Some quick indicating of the bore and taper and this clutch is ready for service.

Some custom work being done on this bull pinion to improve its design and function. To our surprise much of our carbide tooling wouldn’t cut due to the hardness of the bull pinion. This photo is showing a WNMG ceramic insert and the beautiful surface finish it produces.

Here’s a quick job we had boring a 244cc jug to fit a .025 over piston. Once the jig plate was made it was a quick easy job with the south bend model 14 lathe.
