One chance to get it right.

Before a single section of pipe could be lowered into the trench, Fenstermaker crews were already in the field—

mapping terrain, locating utilities, identifying hazards, documenting property boundaries, and building the geospatial foundation that made construction possible.

Across ranchland, rocky terrain, remote corridors, and environmentally sensitive areas, our survey and mapping professionals supported a critical segment of a 500-mile Texas pipeline system stretching from the Permian Basin to the Gulf Coast.

This work demanded more than technical accuracy.

It required:

‣ coordination across hundreds of miles
‣ field adaptability in changing terrain
‣ precision data collection under demanding conditions

Connectivity changes communities
Infrastructure carries growth

Last week, the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury broke ground on Phase 2 of the Ham Reid Road Extension Project—

continuing a corridor designed to improve:

‣ connectivity
‣ traffic flow
‣ safety
‣ long-term growth in South Lake Charles

Phase 1 introduced one of the area’s earliest roadway applications of Low-Impact Development (LID) infrastructure—

integrating:

‣ walkability
‣ landscaped drainage systems
‣ multiuse pathways
‣ sustainable stormwater design

Now, that vision continues westward toward Big Lake Road and Graywood Parkway.

We’re grateful to the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury for their trust and continued partnership throughout this transformational effort.

Fighting tides in the Gulf.
Keeping saltwater out.

Along Louisiana’s coast,
water has to move—

but direction matters.

These structures were designed
to let water flow out
from the freshwater system
into the Gulf,

without allowing saltwater
to push back into the marsh.

Because once saltwater enters,
the landscape changes.

Vegetation shifts.
Habitat weakens.
Freshwater systems begin to break down.

Part of the Mermentau Basin Inundation Relief Project,
these structures help move water
out of the system
while protecting thousands of acres
of coastal marsh.

As Coastal Engineer Daniel Dehon, P.E., explains,

everything here
is gravitational flow.

Sidewalks, measured in feet.
Felt across the city.

On Tee Ma Road, construction is underway, placing sidewalks within the footprint of an existing ditch, where drainage and access move together.

Inlets are spaced with intention.
Pipes are sized to perform.

Runoff is captured, conveyed, and kept off the roadway where it would otherwise collect.

Led by the City of Carencro, this is targeted investment in pedestrian infrastructure, integrated with a drainage system designed for real conditions.

And the work is expanding.

Additional TAP funding has been awarded for Prejean Road, extending the corridor to connect Pelican Park to Carencro Park and continue toward downtown.

A continuous path taking shape.

Nothing about it is simple

Everybody thinks it’s point A to point B.

In a sugar cane field, it’s not.

What looks like open land
