We all know how Louisiana weather likes to play games.

One minute, it's blue skies, sunshine, and not a cloud in sight. The next? Well, let's just say Mother Nature isn't exactly known for giving us much notice.

And while we're certainly not complaining about this beautiful stretch of sunny weather here in Lafayette, we also know it won't last forever.

All it takes is one good downpour to ruin the day. A leaky roof, clogged gutters, water sneaking in around a window or door, or an unexpected plumbing problem can leave you dealing with water damage when you least expect it.

And when that happens, the last thing you want to be doing is scrambling to figure out who to call.

So here's a little friendly "hack" while the sun is shining...

Take 10 seconds and save our number in your phone.

A Family Legacy. A New Chapter. A Promise That Remains.

In 2004, Rinea Blanchard set out to build something in Greater Lafayette and Acadiana. What began in construction cleanup would eventually become a legacy shared with her son.

Superior Contract Cleaning grew through long days, hard work, sheer grit, and an unwavering belief that doing right by people was the only way to do business.

Over time, the work changed. So did the challenges. And along the way, a mom and her son became a team.

Zack Blanchard began helping his mom, Rinea, on restoration jobs during his days off. In 2014, he joined Superior Contract Cleaning full-time, determined to grow its water damage restoration services.

Together with their team, they answered the call when disaster struck, helping families and businesses through some of their toughest moments in Louisiana and beyond.

And as far as they'd come together, there was still so much more ahead.

As the work expanded, Zack established ZB Environmental to focus on specialized environmental services, building on the values and experience that had shaped Superior Contract Cleaning.

In 2026, Zack took over ownership of Superior Contract Cleaning, carrying forward the company his mom built.

For our customers, this means a new chapter in leadership, while the commitment to quality, integrity, and service remains the same.

Superior Contract Cleaning and ZB Environmental continue operating under their established names, while Zack's experience across both businesses strengthens the work our customers depend on.

For Rinea, this chapter is personal, too. After more than two decades of dedication, she's stepping away from the pressures of ownership, confident that what she built will continue. She'll still be involved, while finding more time to enjoy life.

To everyone who has trusted Superior Contract Cleaning with your homes, businesses, and communities, you've helped make this journey possible.

The next chapter may look different, but the promise that started it all remains the same.

From our family to yours, thank you to everyone across Greater Lafayette and Acadiana. ❤️

A slow plumbing leak might not seem like a big deal. A little moisture here, a few drops there. Nothing to worry about, right?

Unfortunately, it's often the water damage you DON'T see that causes the biggest problems.

Water from a slow leak can gradually seep into flooring, subfloors, walls, and structural materials. Left undetected, that moisture can lead to wood deterioration, mold growth, and costly repairs.

That's where our crew at Superior Contract Cleaning comes in.

In this photo, they're on the job, investigating water damage caused by a plumbing leak.

Our restoration process involves using professional moisture detection equipment to identify where water has traveled, assess the extent of the damage, and determine which materials have been affected.

From there, our team can remove damaged materials when necessary and use specialized drying equipment to address trapped moisture and help restore the property.

The tricky thing about slow leaks? By the time you notice something's wrong, water may have already been causing damage for weeks or even months.

The takeaway? Don't underestimate a slow plumbing leak. The sooner hidden moisture is discovered and addressed, the better your chances of preventing more extensive damage.

If you've discovered a plumbing leak or suspect water may be lurking in your home or business, don't wait for the problem to get worse. Give Superior Contract Cleaning a call. We're here to help!

When business owners think about productivity and employee well-being, things like staffing, technology, ergonomics, and operational efficiency usually come to mind.

But what about the environment your employees spend so much of their time in?

It's something that's easy to overlook, yet it's an important part of creating a comfortable, well-maintained workplace.

In 2015, the CDC Foundation reported that worker illness and injury were associated with an estimated $225.8 billion in annual productivity losses for American employers.

Now, that doesn't mean commercial cleaning can prevent every illness or injury. Of course it can't. But a thoughtful cleaning program is one practical way to support a healthier, more comfortable working environment.

And here's something you might find interesting...

Just because a workplace looks spotless doesn't necessarily mean everything is getting the cleaning attention it needs.

According to the CDC, frequently touched surfaces should be cleaned regularly, particularly in areas that see a lot of daily activity.

Think about the surfaces your employees and customers touch throughout the day:

✅ Door handles, light switches, and handrails

✅ Shared keyboards, desks, and office equipment

✅ Breakroom tables, counters, and appliances

✅ Restroom fixtures and other commonly used surfaces

These everyday touchpoints are worth paying attention to when planning a workplace cleaning schedule.

And here's another detail that's often overlooked...

Cleaning and disinfecting aren't quite the same thing.

Cleaning physically removes dirt and many germs from surfaces. Disinfecting uses products designed to kill remaining germs when additional precautions are needed.

But here's the interesting part: Disinfectants need time to work.

Simply spraying a surface and immediately wiping it dry may not provide the intended level of disinfection. Each product has a specified contact time, meaning the surface needs to remain wet for the period stated on its label.

Interestingly, the CDC notes that regular cleaning is enough in most everyday situations. However, when someone's been sick or there's a greater risk of spreading germs, additional disinfection may be necessary.

So, here's a question worth considering...

Does your company's cleaning schedule actually reflect how employees use your workplace?

Because effective commercial cleaning isn't just about making everything look nice. It's about understanding which areas need attention, how frequently they should be cleaned, and which cleaning methods are appropriate.

Combined with good hand hygiene and proper building maintenance, these practices can help create a healthier, more comfortable environment for everyone.

And when you invest in a workplace that supports your employees' well-being, you're investing in the people your business depends on every day.

At Superior Contract Cleaning, we help businesses throughout Greater Lafayette and Acadiana maintain clean, welcoming, and professionally cared-for workplaces.

Because the workplace you provide should support your team, not work against it.

Have you noticed a persistent musty smell, unexplained water stains, or unusual discoloration on the walls or ceilings of your home or business?

These can be early warning signs of hidden moisture, water damage, or mold growth that may already be occurring in areas you can't easily see.

And here's the thing. Just because you can't see what's happening behind your walls or beneath your flooring doesn't mean there isn't a problem developing.

Left unchecked, these issues can worsen over time, damaging building materials, allowing mold to spread, and potentially leading to much more extensive and costly repairs.

👉 That's where Superior Contract Cleaning comes in.

10/06/2026

Most of us look at our monthly water bill and ask the question:

How much do I owe?

But there may be another question that’s even more important:

How much water did we actually use?

And there’s an important distinction here:

The amount of water your bill says your household "consumed" isn’t necessarily the same as the amount of water you "knowingly used."

👉 Right about now, you may be wondering, “What the heck does any of this have to do with a restoration company? Isn’t this a plumbing issue?”

Stay with me. It’ll all make sense in a minute.

If your household normally uses roughly the same amount of water and suddenly that number jumps, there may be a perfectly reasonable explanation.

Maybe you’ve had guests. Maybe you’ve been watering outside more often. Maybe your family’s routine has simply changed.

But if nothing obvious explains the increase, higher water consumption can also be a sign of a plumbing leak you don’t know about.

In fact, according to EPA WaterSense, leaks in the average household can waste about 180 gallons of water every week. That’s more than 9,000 gallons over the course of a year!

And yes, if you suspect a plumbing leak, that’s when you should likely call a plumber to identify the source and make the necessary repair.

👉 But this is where the restoration side of the conversation becomes relevant.

If there’s an undetected leak somewhere in your home, not only is that water still passing through your meter, leading to higher water bills, but you may also have no idea where that water is going.

Sometimes the answer is relatively harmless. A leaking toilet, for example, may simply be sending that extra water down the drain.

But depending on the source and location of a leak, water can also make its way under flooring, behind baseboards, into cabinetry, drywall and other building materials where it may not be immediately obvious.

Over time, that hidden water can damage those materials and, given the right conditions, create an environment where mold can begin to grow.

And that’s when the extra money on your water bill may become the least expensive part of the problem. What started as an unexplained increase on a water bill can potentially become a much larger and much more expensive restoration problem.

So don’t just look at the amount due on your water bill. Keep an eye on your actual water usage, too.

Know what’s normal for your household. Compare your usage from month to month.

If you notice a significant change that you can’t explain, find out why... because an unexplained increase in your water bill may be telling you something you need to know.

And if that extra water is going somewhere it shouldn’t, discovering it early could mean the difference between addressing a hidden leak and dealing with a much larger water damage or mold problem later.

Sometimes, paying attention to a small change today can help prevent a much bigger restoration problem tomorrow.

Businesses spend a lot of time and money trying to win new customers.

You optimize your Google Business Profile.

You invest in SEO.

You run Google Ads and Meta campaigns.

You improve your website, create social content and look for new ways to generate more leads, more customers and more sales.

But despite all those technical optimizations focused on getting new customers through the door, if the actual customer experience they have doesn't live up to the expectations all that great marketing created... all that hard work can quickly fly off a cliff.

That's why, from our professional perspective, "customer experience" deserves as much attention as "customer acquisition."

In fact, research from PwC found that 29% of consumers have stopped using or buying from a brand because of a poor customer experience, whether online or in person.

And when that experience happens in person, whether customers visit your office, showroom, facility or workspace, your physical environment becomes part of that experience.

Before they speak with your team, make a purchase or decide whether they'll return, they're already taking in their surroundings and forming an opinion.

The floors. The windows. The reception area. The restrooms. The overall cleanliness and appearance of your facility.

Those details help shape how customers perceive your business and whether the experience matches the expectations you've worked so hard to create.

That's why professional commercial cleaning isn't simply about keeping a building clean.

It's about making sure your physical environment reflects the same level of professionalism you've worked so hard to build through your marketing.

And that's where Superior Contract Cleaning comes in.

Our professional commercial cleaning services help your business maintain a clean, polished and professionally cared-for environment that reflects the standards you want your customers to associate with your business.

From offices and customer-facing spaces to commercial facilities throughout Greater Lafayette and Acadiana... we help take care of the environment your customers walk into so it supports the reputation you've worked so hard to build.

If you're looking for professional commercial cleaning for your business, give us a call. We'd love to learn more about your facility, your needs and how we can help.

In this Lafayette showroom, years of foot traffic had taken a toll on the tile and grout.

Dirt had settled into the flooring, and the space had started to lose its fresh, welcoming feel.

This photo was taken during the restoration process, while our team was deep cleaning the floors and working through the buildup that regular cleaning can leave behind.

You can already see the difference between the areas that had been cleaned and the sections still waiting to be restored.

Ultimately, the finished result was a significant transformation.

The tile looked brighter. The carpet looked cleaner. And the whole showroom felt more polished, professional, and inviting.

That matters in a customer-facing space.

When people walk into a showroom, the condition of the floors helps shape their first impression. Clean flooring can make the entire space feel better maintained, more comfortable, and more representative of the business itself.

This project is a great example of how professional floor and carpet cleaning can refresh a commercial space without the cost and disruption of replacing the flooring.

Another Greater Lafayette business looking cleaner, brighter, and ready to welcome customers.

If your commercial floors are starting to show the effects of daily traffic, we can help bring them back to life.
