The JLR DoIP SST is a simple to use hand-held device designed to allow the service technician to quickly and simply carry out general daily service functions using applications approved by Jaguar Land Rover.
The JLR DoIP SST hand-held device operates independently without any need to be connected to the approved diagnostic system or a PC. The JLR DoIP SST hand-held device connects directly to the vehicle via the diagnostic connector and can be controlled using the keypad.
For Jaguar Land Rover franchised retailers the JLR DoIP SST collects feedback session data from the vehicles you connect to. This data is sent back to Jaguar Land Rover when you connect to the App Hub software to check for updates. To ensure the data is sent back regularly the JLR SST prompts you to connect to the App Hub software when necessary.

JLR DoIP SST Service Applications
Application
Description of Operation
SIR – Service Interval Reset
This application resets the service light and/or oil change reset depending on the vehicle.
EPBR – Electronic Park Brake Release
Moves the electronic park brake to the mount position and then releases the brake calipers.
DPFDR – DPF Dynamic Regeneration
The DPFDR application allows the vehicles DPF dynamic regeneration process to be undertaken to clear the DPF of soot build up.
Oil Level Measurement Displays current engine oil level instantaneously on screen with a bar graph and actual levels.
Diesel Exhaust Fuel (DEF) Allows the Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF or AdBlue®) level to be constantly monitored, and displays the amount required to refill the tank.
TM Toggle – Transport Mode Toggle The Transport Mode Toggle application allows the vehicle to be placed in and out of Transport mode including speed limit and air suspension depending on vehicle variant.
TTM Toggle – Tight Tolerance Mode Toggle The Tight Tolerance Mode Toggle application allows the vehicle to be placed in and out of Tight Tolerance mode depending on vehicle variant.
Force Ignition The Force Ignition Application turns the vehicles ignition on and holds it in the on position for as long as the JLR SST is connected to the vehicle and the application is running.

IMS=Interface Module Simulation
When you get your i Scan, you can add the IMS function to your tool. The full IMS package is $2000.
Autoland Scientech recently changed the delivery options to allow purchase of individual brands, this reduces end user expense.
Most i Scan customers don't even know about the IMS option!
The IMS is an icon on your tool, clicking the icon will open a menu that shows brand choices. Like Mercedes, BMW, Porsche, VW, or Audi.
Automotive Diagnostic Solutions is the the most capable support team for this function. It was introduced when the VeDis came out around 2007! With the IMS you can connect just like the VAS 6154A factory connector for VW or Audi cars. Run the subscription software on your PC and connect to the cars DLC using the scanner and BOOM! You are fully capable on that brand.
I sold out of the BMW ICOM Next A VCI last week, I called today to order some more. The parts guy could see that there are 2500 currently on backorder!
With IMS on your scanner you now have an ICOM choice show up in the ISTA+ VCI manager! This is NOT like J2534, it is seen as a REAL ICOM.
The benefit of this is huge. Especially in this age of COVID affected supply chains! It is not just the BMW ICOM, the VW/Audi VAS 6154A is NA with no delivery expectations. The Pathfinder Interface for Jags and Land Rover was supposed to be shipping at the end of last month, now it is projected out to end of October, the dSTI for Subaru is out of stock. I am sure there are others.
IMS choices also include Volvo, Jaguar, Land Rover, GM GDS, Ford FJDS and FDRS, Honda, and Subaru!

Here we go with more vehicle updates!
BMW F and G chassis’s improved data stream on EME.
Improved headlamp driver initialization.
Improved Aux battery replacement functions.
We tweaked EGS reset procedure.
DME startup valvetronic function.
Honda has improved our ECM/PCM replacement and immobilizer key setting. Very important with the new immobilizer lock down the OEM's are shoving down our throat.
Mercedes-Benz has big improvements for ride height on 212 and 218’s.
We have also added a lot of good functions on the 906 and 907 Sprinter AdBlue systems!

Our first tech support call of 2021!
Jay from Hudson Road Automotive called at 9:36 AM to ask about programming and coding a Jasper transmission for an E65 BMW X5. The transmission came with a Drew Technologies Rap kit for doing the recommended programming/coding. Jay asked if he should use the Rap or just do it with the i Scan.
We talked about the differences between the two choices.
The difference was in how long it would take to complete.
We decided to use the i Scan, we finished our call at 9:42 AM.
Jay called back at 10:02 to say he was done, Programmed, coded, and cleared faults in less than twenty minutes.
BOOM!
