Last week we celebrated our annual Employee Appreciation event, recognizing staff reaching service milestones with Transpo and honoring one of our principals, Jon Pascal, for 25 years with the company alongside his family.

We also recognized Bryce Kinney as this year’s Company Values Award recipient. This award celebrates employees who embody teamwork, ingenuity, relationships, and empathy in the work they do every day.

We wrapped up the celebration with a Mariners game, a fun chance to spend time together outside the office and celebrate the people who make Transpo what it is. We’re incredibly grateful for the dedication, talent, and accomplishments of our staff that continue to shape our culture and success every day.

Congratulations to all of our Service Award recipients and award winners!

Transpo Group had a fun morning out supporting Bike Everywhere Day through the Cascade Bicycle Club along the Cross Kirkland Corridor! 🚴
Our team set up along the trail to cheer on riders, hand out goodies, and celebrate active transportation. It’s always great to see so many people choosing to bike and use our regional trail connections, including some of our own employees!

We are excited that the Long-Range Transit Plan for Ben Franklin Transit (BFT) was officially adopted!
Transpo led development of BFT’s first Long-Range Transit Plan, helping chart a strategic path forward as the region experiences rapid population and employment growth. Our team led the technical analysis, community engagement, and coordination with jurisdictions across the region to ensure the plan reflects local priorities and future transit needs.
The plan provides a roadmap for future service, infrastructure investments, rider experience improvements, and sustainable funding strategies to support reliable and equitable transit for years to come.

Happy Employee Appreciation Day to the people who make Transpo go. Our team brings the brains, creativity, teamwork, and just the right amount of humor to everything we do. We’re grateful for the engineers, planners, analysts, administrative, and marketing pros who show up every day ready to solve problems, support each other, and keep things moving.

As we wrap up Engineers Week, we’re proud to highlight our work supporting the City of Lake Stevens’ downtown multimodal vision along the Main Street corridor which added sidewalks, a multi-use path, safer crossings, lighting, transit stops, and on-street parking to make downtown safer and more accessible for everyone.

One of the biggest challenges was balancing pedestrian and cyclist safety with transit operations and boat trailer movements. As Project Manager Kristen Cassias, PE, RSP1 shared: “Our goal was to dedicate as much space as possible to pedestrians and cyclists while still ensuring transit vehicles and boat trailers could maneuver safely. It took detailed coordination and analysis, but the result is a corridor that works for everyone.”

Our team coordinated closely with Community Transit and led bi-weekly meetings across environmental, right of way, and utility partners to keep design moving and meet the federal funding deadline.

The result is a thoughtfully rebalanced corridor that strengthens access to key downtown destinations and creates a more welcoming experience for everyone moving through the area. Projects like this reflect the future of transportation engineering, where safety, access, and community come first.

As we reflect during Engineers Week (EWeek), founded by National Society of Professional Engineers, our engineering team came together for a workshop focused on what sets us apart and where we are headed. As we continue to evolve, we are aligning around a shared understanding of who we are, what we do, and the message we put into the world. By getting on the same page today, we are strengthening our brand, sharpening our impact, and positioning ourselves as part of the future of engineering.
