With school out this week I am now available for mowing and yard work again!

I will be adding gutter cleaning and other lawn services as well.

Go Fund B: Lawn and Odd Jobs is a family business, started by Brenton when he was 13 with the hope of earning enough to pay for 4H Camp and boxing lessons and has grown into a successful part time business with many repeat customers.

He has done everything from mow yards to pick up groceries, babysitting, gardening, digging foundations and participating in princess tea parties over the past 3 years and has been able to not only fund that first camping trip but several other training opportunities as well helping him buy his first vehicle.

Brenton often gets help from his two younger brothers when they are available and hopes they are able to become full partners as they grow, maybe becoming “Go Fund B and Co.” one day.

First yard of the spring! I’ve stayed busy over the fall and winter with inside jobs, but man have I missed this.

Need help getting your Christmas decor out of storage and hung up? I’m your guy.

For $10 an hour I will help in any way needed. I have a strong back for hauling boxes out of attics, nimble feet for climbing ladders and attention to detail for fluffing artificial trees and making sure ornaments are hung symmetrically.

Need a shopping partner? I’ll carry ALL the bags and not comment on how much you spend. I also have little brothers and neices/nephews of all ages so I give excellent gift ideas while reminding you to not forget yourself this holiday season.

I’m also still available for yard work, so if leaves are starting to pile up I’m your man.

My Jeep needs one more big repair before it’s on the road, please share my post with your friends to help me reach my goal.

Just got the estimate for repairing the transmission in the Jeep and we are looking at just under $1k.

Brenton’s mom here:

B will be unavailable to mow this weekend, he will be traveling to Waverly, TN to help with the disaster relief efforts as part of Civil Air Patrol. He has trained in Search and Rescue for the past 4 years and has traveled as far as Alabama and Pennsylvania to assist in missions.

He asked that I post this as well and recommend the program to anyone with teens who want more ways to help their community while also learning leadership skills, aerospace and military bearing.

This is not a typical ROTC style program, as it is not part of a school or community location. Kingsport Composite Squadron has cadets from all over the Tri-Cities and Southwest Virginia.

I’ve been up to something a little different these past couple of weeks!

Meet Brenton ..
He is our teen Ambassador for Sullivan County & KCS schools!

💝When asked why do you want to be a teen ambassador ?

Brenton says he wanted to be a teen ambassador to help break the stigma from guys that periods are something to be bothered by. He says guys don’t have to understand what it’s like but need to get over the toxic masculinity of thinking their friends/girlfriends are gross.

💝When asked why do you think period packs are important?

“Period packs are important for schools because we live in an area where it’s not unheard of for someone to not be able to afford the necessary supplies. Someone could end up using items not designed for this purpose and getting hurt or sick. Proving the supplies offers the schools a way to support these individuals in a positive way that impacts not only their school day, but also gives supplies they can take home.”

His bio:

Brenton is 15 and a sophomore in high school. He’s active in 4-H, band and yearbook and is on the track team. Brenton is a C/CMSgt in Civil Air Patrol as a part of the Kingsport Composite Squadron, he is the co-leader of the teams search and rescue team and holds both Emergency Search and Rescue and Ranger ranks. He intends on joining the Air Force after high school and wants to be a pilot. He volunteers his time is many ways and has volunteered over 300 hours in 3 years. Brenton runs his own business “Go Fund B” where he does yard work and odd jobs all across the Tri-Cities and Southwest Virginia. He offers to mow for free for anyone who otherwise wouldn’t be able to have their yard taken care of. He’s a devoted big brother to his 3 younger brothers, helps his family and neighbors anyway he can.

Good morning! I am not mowing today (WHAT!!!) and I’m finally getting to work on the Jeep. She needs a good name, so please leave your suggestions.

I get my learners permit in 2 months and I really want to get her on the road by then and here is what I am looking at:

To get it road ready:
-4 tires
-brake line
-shift cylinder (one of two, need diagnostics to find out which one)
-oil pan (replaced or welded)

Secondary and maintenance:
- 2 blend doors to route AC
- plugs and wires
- oil filter
-passenger side mirror

Already have the part, just need to install it - front drive shaft boot switch

Cosmetic:

-seat covers
-floor mats

Every time you share my mowing posts or refer me to a friend/family or even book me to work gets me a little closer to checking something off this list.

Soon there will be a “yummy” fundraiser that will also be a small way to support me while also getting a yummy treat as well, details coming soon!!!

Another fun announcement! I am now a 2021 Teen Ambassador for Seasons of Hope in Johnson City, TN. For the 21/22 school year I will fundraise and gather supplies in order to create and provide Emergency Hygiene Packs (aka period packs) to high and middle schools in Scott County, VA and Sullivan County, TN.

These packs include:
-pads/tampons
-new underwear
-information on hygiene
-wipes
-candy
-encouraging notes

They are provided to schools to be given out to students in need at no charge in a discrete bag.

I wanted to get involved with this program after helping to pack these bags a couple of years ago then witnessing a close friend be ridiculed for needing a pad during school. I started keeping a pad and tampon in my bookbag just in case, but no one knew to ask me so this is my next step in helping out.

No one should feel shame for a natural body function and I want to break the stigma that men have to act like it’s gross!
