Universal Machine & Tool is seeking a Mechanical Engineer / Estimator to join our team.

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (Master’s preferred)
• Experience working in the mechanical engineering field
• Superior computer skills, with solid experience in CAD and CAM programs

Mechanical Engineer Job Responsibilities:
• Serves as the point of contact for client order estimations and materials quoting and acquisitions
• Identifies deficiencies in mechanical processes and developing improvements
• Designing and developing prototypes
• Analyzing and testing prototypes and each revision of a device
• Supervising the development of computer-aided design (CAD) project drawings from junior team members
• Developing, initiating and managing all phases of projects
• Preparing documentation of critical analysis and providing suggestions for correcting errors
• Collaborating with Project Managers for proper allocation and tracking of resources
• Prepares product reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
• Provides engineering information by answering questions and requests.
• Maintains product and company reputation by complying with government regulations.
• Completes projects by training and guiding technicians.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Designs mechanical and electromechanical products and systems by developing and testing specifications and methods.
• Confirms system and product capabilities by designing feasibility and testing methods and properties.
• Develops mechanical and electromechanical products by studying customer requirements; researching and testing manufacturing and assembly methods and materials; and soliciting observations from operators.
• Develops manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment for fabricating, building, assembling, and installing components.
• Assures system and product quality by designing testing methods; testing finished-product and system capabilities; and confirming fabrication, assembly, and installation processes.

Calling all Heavy Haulers‼️ Full-time positions available at our sister company ‼️

Gillespie, Inc. is seeking two full-time Class A CDL drivers with professional level experience in heavy haul truck driving and securing loads with basic level experience in rigging operations. This position is responsible for the safe transportation of industrial machinery and equipment to and from various customer job locations that are 90% within a 200-mile radius. Gillespie, Inc. also provides Millwright & Rigging service and will give priority to applicants possessing experience in this field. This position requires excellent communication and situational analysis skills.

Responsibilities

Pre-trip and post-trip inspections of truck and all equipment
Communicate and coordinate with dispatchers
Secure cargo and properly arrange/balance load
Comply with ELD per state and federal regulations
Obey and follow applicable traffic laws
Report defects, accidents and violations
Perform daily maintenance of equipment, refuel, clean, etc.
Loading and offloading using forklifts and pallet jacks
Verify loads for accuracy
Interact with customers in a professional manner
Document job details using photographs, load numbers, serial numbers, etc.
Ensure respectful and efficient utilization of equipment, facilities, and labor hours

Requirements and skills:

Up-to-date CDL licensing and any required medical certification
5-years experience as a CDL driver
Hands-on experience with construction equipment and machinery
Availability to travel regularly to different sites across the region with some overnight trips required
Strong documentation skills for required paperwork
An eye for detail
Team spirit
