MVP of the Game

On Friday, May 29th, the Clifford Majors Electric City Tattoo team earned a 9-5 win over Susquehanna Majors with a strong effort from everyone in the lineup. After the game, one of the MVP honors went to #22, Reid Young.

Reid's two catches in right field came at important moments and helped the team hold onto its lead.

Coach Woody shared:

"Reid has come into his own with pitching and hitting this season but in our game against Susquehanna, he made two athletic catches in right field that helped us keep our lead late in the game. Great job Reid!"

MVP Q&A with Reid Young

Q: If you could play baseball anywhere in the world, where would it be?

A: Puerto Rico.

Q: If you could meet any professional baseball player, who would it be and what would you ask them?

A: Elly De La Cruz. I would ask him, "What did you do to become a pro?"

Q: If you could switch places with a coach for a day, what would you do?

A:I'd have a home run derby.

Q: What position do you like playing the most, and why?

A: Pitcher, because you're able to control the game.

Q: What's something new you've learned this season?

A: If there's a fast pitcher, move back in the box. If there's a slower pitcher, move up in the box.

Great job boys! ⚾️

Monday 5/4 MVP of the Game: This one belongs to every boy in the dugout.

Lately this season, this group has been making a habit out of battling back, and they may have earned themselves a new nickname: “The Comeback Kids.”

Clifford Majors Electric City Tattoo vs. Montrose Boys Majors ended with a 14-9 Clifford win. Down 8-0 in the second inning, these boys never folded into themselves. They kept talking, kept backing each other up, kept finding ways to put the next run on the board. One teammate at a time, they worked their way back into the game together.

Coach Kyle shared:

“Down 8-0 in the second. No panic. No excuses. This team dug in, chipped away, and finished the job. That’s how it’s done.”

Thank you boys for being a part of our league and giving us the kind of baseball we’re proud to watch…teammates playing for each other, picking each other up, and never deciding a game is over before the last out is recorded. Keep playing hard and having fun out there boys!

🎉 Let’s give a loud cheer for Joseph Bolcavage, our MVP of the Game for the Clifford Majors in Monday’s game vs. Montrose! 👏

Joseph has been with our Little League since his days in T-Ball, and we’ve loved watching him grow. This season, he’s been grinding it out at third base, working hard to learn, improve, and give his best every game. That hard work paid off on June 9, with a great performance on the field that earned him the MVP honor.

Q: If your bat (or glove, cleats, etc.) could talk, what would it say about your game last night?

A: “If my bat could talk, it would say to swing more.”

Q: If you could pick any professional baseball player to be your mentor, who would it be and what’s the first question you’d ask them?

A: “Babe Ruth—I would ask him how to hit.”

Q: What’s your favorite part of the game—hitting, fielding, or running the bases? What do you love most about that part?

A: “I enjoy fielding. I love it most when I make a nice play.”

Q: What’s one of the funniest or most unforgettable moments you’ve had in Little League?

A: "The most unforgettable moment was when Dalton had a dropped third homer."

Q: What’s one piece of advice you’d give to someone who wants to be an MVP one day?

A: “To work hard.”

When he's not on the diamond, Joseph loves to ski, and he’s got a real knack for taking things apart and putting them back together! A fun holiday tradition? Joseph has made pasta for his family the past three Christmases. And whether it’s on the field or around town, you’ll find Joseph actively helping out in the community, always stepping up and putting in the work.

Brendan was an absolute standout in the outfield, bringing incredible energy and focus to the field. He made some huge catches that were crucial for the team, showing tremendous hustle and growth. A: "Just have fun and it’s okay if you strike out. Oh, and always have sunglasses!"

Off the field, Brendan is just as awesome – he enjoys playing the saxophone, riding his bike, and hanging out on Roblox!
