Welcome back to another episode of Brooks on Main!

As you can see, a lot can change in a day! The rain has held off, the tarps are coming down, and gravel is going in. They’re moving quick, and we’re finally starting to see some serious progress!

Once they get all the gravel in and everything prepped, the concrete crews will be rolling in. Main Street is moving! 👀

So keep your eyes up and stay tuned for the next update.

And as always, remember—the back door is always open at Brooks Hardware & Auto! 🚪🇺🇸

Welcome back to another episode of Brooks on Main — Kimball’s Mostly True News!

The Cruiser is moving, and the crew had to do a little more digging out and repacking. BUT… they’re saying gravel should be going down TODAY! 🎉

That’s great news! Now, if we can just convince Mother Nature to hold off on the rain for a little while, maybe—just maybe—we can avoid another round of ripping, digging, drying, and repacking. 🤞

I know we need the rain, and rain is always a good thing… just not right now, Mother Nature. Give us a little time to get that base layer of gravel down!

Fingers crossed, everyone!

Until next time, this is Ed signing out with your Mostly True News on Main! 🏗️

Welcome back to another episode of Brooks on Main — Kimball’s mostly true news!

As you can see, it’s Groundhog Day on Main Street. We’ve apparently repeated this cycle about three or four times now. 😂

The good news? They are getting REALLY good at pumping it, ripping it up, drying it out, repacking it, and starting all over again.

The bad news? It’ll probably be a few more days before they get the gravel back down.

So, the vicious cycle continues: pump, rip, dry, pack, repeat.

We’ll keep you updated with all the need-to-know information from Main Street, along with our usual mostly true news.

Until then, the back door is always open! Keep supporting your local businesses—we appreciate every single one of you! 🇺🇸

Welcome back to another episode of Brooks On Main — Kimball’s choice for mostly true local news! 😂

The equipment is moving, the birds are chirping, and the crew is getting the track prepped! 🏗️🚜

Now, whether these mud runs are actually happening Saturday… well, stay tuned. They’re working on getting everything dried out and repacked, with about 8 inches of gravel reportedly going down.

Looking a little further ahead, the sidewalks will start coming out too. It sounds like they won’t all be removed at once or in the same places, so keep that in mind when you're coming down to support your Main Street businesses.

For all your somewhat local, mostly accurate, occasionally questionable news, keep it tuned to Brooks Hardware & Auto.

And remember… the back door is always open! 😎

Welcome back to another episode of Brooks On Main — Kimball’s choice for mostly true news!

The water is rising, folks! At this rate, it might finally be time to launch the boat and get some real fishing in. A little deeper water, a little bigger fish… at least that’s what we’re telling ourselves. 🎣🚤

We got another decent shot of rain, which is great for keeping the grass green, but not so great for getting the Main Street project moving. So naturally, the project slows down while the mowing speeds up. You just can’t win!

And speaking of fishing… the fish aren't exactly cooperating. But that’s alright—we’ll blame the weather, the water, the moon, or probably the fish themselves.

Stay tuned for more updates from Brooks On Main, where the water is rising and the excuses are getting deeper! 😂

Welcome back to another installment of Brooks On Main!

As you can see, the water is flowing the way it’s supposed to! Bad news (or good news) it's dammed up. The Lord graced us with some much-needed rain, so why not take advantage of it?

That’s right—Main Street Water Sports! 😂🌊

Grab the family, grab the inner tubes, and come on down! Or better yet, stop by Brooks Hardware & Auto and pick up an application. We’re always looking for new talent to help navigate the mighty Main Street Moat!

Remember, folks: when life gives you rain, make water sports! 😂

Welcome back to "Brooks On Main" — Kimball's choice for the mostly true news!

Big news from Main Street! With the 0.90" of rain last night and the cooler weather this morning, the opportunity opened up to try a little fishing again. Unfortunately, the new "Moat on Main" didn't quite fill up, so I'm thinking all the wall-hangers are still hiding out in the bigger ponds.

The crew replacing the sewer main keeps making progress, and it looks like the next phase of the project is only a few days away.

Don't forget: Echoes of the Past is Saturday Aug 8th starting at 8:00 AM! Come out and enjoy:
🎨 Support the Splash Color Run
🛍️ Farmers Market
🥟 Kolache Days
🚗 Car Show
🍽️ Meal at the Senior Center
🎯 Bean Bag Tournament at the Kimball Legion

I'm still petitioning to add a Kids Fishing Derby and Main Street Mud Runs, but that idea is sinking faster than Collin Powell trying to pull into the First Dakota drive-up.

That's all for today's edition. Remember to support your local businesses—because it isn't the big box stores that sponsor the kids, support local organizations, and help keep small-town communities thriving.

When you haven't seen your neighbors across the street because the new Main Street moat has made crossing feel like an expedition... there's only one logical solution:

Declare a WATER BALLOON WAR! 💦

Grab a water balloon slingshot from Brooks Hardware & Auto and settle neighborhood disputes the fun way. No hard feelings, just soaked shirts, lots of laughs, and memories that'll last a whole lot longer than the road construction.

Shout out to all businesses that participated Club Vega Michelle's Market LLC Crazy 8's Creations Lyon Ranch Beef Knee Deep BBQ LLC

Swing in and get yours before the ceasefire is called!

Welcome back to another installment from Brooks Hardware & Auto!

I've been down and out for a while, but we're going to keep pushing through, keep the doors open, and keep the posts rolling. A huge thank you to Shane and Patti for picking up my slack while I was out. I couldn't have done it without you both!

Now, onto a problem every farmer knows all too well... the grasshoppers are absolutely ruthless this year. While we can't promise to wipe them all out, we're doing our part to control the invasion.

Come grab your own BUG-A-SALT before they're gone—they've been hopping off the shelves almost as fast as the pests are hopping through your fields!

P.S. We're still in the research and development phase of a full-auto model for those really out-of-control infestations. Until then... accuracy counts. 😉
