Safety Notice – Petzl Astro & Canyon Guide Harnesses
We are sharing this notice again to ensure everyone sees it.
If you own a Petzl Astro or Canyon Guide harness manufactured before October 2023, please check your harness and follow the guidance in the post below regarding the replacement D-Ring.

ASTRO and CANYON GUIDE harness safety alert: Replacement of the ventral D-ring
User feedback alerted us to premature wear of the screws on the gated ventral attachment point on ASTRO rope access harnesses manufactured before October 2023 (harnesses that were affected by our call for inspection in 2023, including CANYON GUIDE harnesses).
This wear can cause the ventral D-ring’s pin to release, and the attachment point to open, which could lead to serious injury or death. This is why we ask that you replace the metal D-ring and the screws on the gated ventral attachment point, upon receiving the replacement kit.
