At Carlson Manufacturing, we strive to offer the best of both worlds: the capabilities and reliability of a larger corporation coupled with the personalized service of a family-owned business. In 1966, founder Emanuel Carlson recognized a gap in the manufacturing industry. He saw a problem that needed a solution, and he provided it. Starting in the basement of their home in Burnsville, Minnesota,

Emanuel and his wife, Opal began to produce the products that customers were asking for- at a reasonable price. In doing so, they earned a valued customer that we still service today. Soon they had to add another garage on the family homestead to keep up with demand. It wasn't long before Emanuel saw the inevitable: the company was going to grow larger than the homestead property would allow. New property was purchased in 1971 in the community of Kerkhoven, in West Central Minnesota. A new facility was built. Over the years, several additions and new buildings have been added. Additional equipment and capabilities also continued to be added to meet the needs of a growing customer base. Today, the company has several buildings with a total square footage of approximately 40,000 square feet. Emanuel Carlson's vision was to provide a "yes" attitude to service. That attitude still exists today at Carlson Manufacturing, Inc. That "yes" means:

Yes, will meet our customers' needs for quality and delivery. Yes, we will treat them the way a good customer deserves to be treated, with honesty and fairness. And Yes, we can do this at a price that's fair too. Emanuel knew that if he treated people in that manner, his business would grow. There were plenty of manufacturing companies, but most of them were focused on selling as much product as possible, with service and support treated as an afterthought. Emanuel had a vision for a full-service, quality-focused organization with an emphasis on long-term customer relationships. Today, under the leadership of Warren Carlson, we continue the tradition of quality, service, and reliability on which our company's reputation was built. Although we haven't lost sight of the principles on which Carlson Manufacturing was founded, we're looking ahead to new innovations and technologies that can provide our customers with greater quality and cost savings.
