Manufacturing/Fabrication Engineer – Kenosha Location

JOB DESCRIPTION

This position reports to the Operations Manager and will provide you with the responsibilities of:

Managing each new part or assembly from the quoting stage through ongoing production
Providing DFM information to customers to help optimize their design and make it cost effective to produce
Establishing process routings and work instructions, defining tooling, defining any fixtures or gauges and determining packaging
Helping to increase the business from existing customers by continually working to integrate Precision Stainless’ capabilities into our customers processes to increasingly add value and build customer partnerships
Being part of the MRB and helping to solve quality issue
Supporting the companies continuous improvement activities based in the Theory of Constraints methodology and 5S
Providing updates to internal and external customers as to the status of each project
Managing all customer changes including; estimating cost per change, communicating the change internally, ensuring the appropriate documentation is used to process the change and working with materials to disposition all material as necessary
Suggesting cost reduction ideas to customers and managing the implementation
Keeping up to date with the capabilities and technology available and communicating with customers on new developments
JOB REQUIREMENTS

An excellent candidate will have the following skills and qualifications:

Bachelors degree in an engineering or technical discipline desired or equivalent work experience in a similar role
Strong background in CAD, SOLIDWORKS or similar
Must have the ability to read and understand prints, including GDT
Three years of experience in a similar role within a fabrication shop. Stainless Steel preferred
Strong understanding of fabrication processes including cutting/shearing, waterjet, forming, welding and polishing
Working knowledge of quality systems, PPAP and metrics
Strong communication skills
Up to 10% travel may be required
