Brockman Machine Works LLC is a machine shop specializing in prototyping and design work. We currently focus on motion controlled inspection systems for the aerospace industry and XRF Spectrometers utilizing NDT. We have been in business for over 25 years and have always gone to great lengths to go above and beyond our clients’ expectations.
We are currently in need of a skilled CNC Lathe Machinist with experience and proven ability in the field.
Required Skillset:
• Strong working knowledge of tool offsets, speeds, and feeds for cutting various materials
• Strong programming, problem solving, analytical, mathematical, mechanical and communication skills
• Strong time management skills
• Mechanically inclined and metallurgy knowledge; knowledge of geometry and basic trig
• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time at the machines
• Punctual and able to commit to a 40-hour work week
• Hardworking and reliable
Job Responsibilities
• Reads and interprets blueprints
• Plans machining by studying work orders, blueprints, materials, specifications, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances
• Write programs on machine control using G-Code
• Setup and operate CNC Lathes: Properly and safely selects, aligns, secures, and removes holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines as outlined in setup sheets
• Performs QA on first part and then periodically during run
• Drilling, boring, tapping, broaching, keyways, threading and grinding
• Recognizes, deploys, and properly uses inserts, fixtures, and tooling
• Able to work and problem solve with minimal supervision
Full time Job - 40+ hours a week
No weekends - Monday to Friday: 8-hour daytime shifts
Hourly pay rates with sick leave and vacation accruement with time worked.
