This closure will affect how you get to our yard, coming from the south. Please use Avenue H instead of Avenue M and turn east on South Railroad Street.

The City of Kearney, on behalf of Nielsen Contracting and Midlands Contracting, announces that Avenue M will be closed from 17th Street to South Railroad Street beginning the week of October 20, 2025. This closure is necessary to allow for water main and storm sewer improvements in the area.

A signed detour route will be provided, and all Avenue M traffic will need to follow the designated detour.

Weather permitting, the work is expected to take approximately two (2) weeks, after which the roadway will be reopened to traffic.

Due to the high traffic volumes along this corridor, motorists who regularly use Avenue M are encouraged to plan ahead and seek alternate routes when possible. Those who must travel in the area are urged to use caution and observe all posted speed limits along the detour route.

The City of Kearney Utilities announces 11th Street from M Avenue to Antelope Avenue will be closed beginning at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, August 25 to all thru traffic for water main repair work. All addresses east of 1308 E. 11th Street (Navigator Motor Coach) will have local business access from the east (Antelope Avenue). The roadway is planned to be fully reopened by 5:00 p.m. on Monday, September 8, weather and construction permitting.

Motorists are asked to plan their alternative route(s) and use caution when in the area.

❄️Because of the freezing temperatures we will NOT be accepting larger scrap loads Tue. Feb. 18th, Wed. Feb. 19th & Thur. Feb. 20th (morning). Cranes and large equipment will not be running. Stay warm!
