SUMMARY: This position carries out responsibilities in the following areas: benefits administration, employee relations, training, performance management, on boarding, policy implementation, recruitment/employment, and employment law compliance.
Duties & Responsibilities:
*Establish and oversee all aspects of the recruiting process including interviewing, selection, reference/background checks, pre-employment drug testing, and offers of employment.
*Develop and maintain an employee on boarding program that effectively orients new employees to the company.
*Partner with Management to develop and implement strategies and processes intended to meet the development needs of the employees, this includes learning, organizational development, talent management, performance management, and succession.
*Track safety concerns and ensure compliance with OSHA inspections and other audits. Track incidents and investigate complaints as necessary.
*Establish and follow best practices that comply with applicable laws and regulations for investigations, progressive discipline, terminations, recordkeeping, documentation, and all other employee policies.
*Regular review of company handbook, policies, job descriptions, and forms as appropriate to ensure compliance with all local, state and federal employment laws and regulations.
*Develop trusted relationships with employees that support the company's open-door policy, fosters free discussions regarding concerns, and assists them in addressing their concerns.
*Develop and regularly assess comprehensive compensation and benefit programs to maintain a competitive position in the market.
Support processing and maintenance of payroll records.
*Ensure company is compliant with all DOT rules and regulations and manage and maintain driver files.
*Coordinate company events.
*Administer compensation and benefit plans.
*Maintain and assess company business insurance to include P&L, ERISA, Auto, Work Comp, etc.
*Manage HRIS system including data accuracy, payroll, metrics, attendance and other employee related information.
Minimum Qualifications:
*Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related degree.
*Minimum of 3 years’ experience in HR *Management or HR Generalist role.
*Have both a functional and working knowledge of computers in general
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
*Thorough knowledge of HR laws and policies
*Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
*Excellent organizational skills including attention to detail
*Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
*Familiarity with basic Microsoft Office software and ability to use the software effectively
*Strong soft skills including problem solving, conflict resolution, and effective listening
*The ideal candidate will be someone who thrives on finding solutions to HR challenges and making an impact in the employee-employer experience
*Take ownership and follow through on assigned projects, which may require working extended hours to complete projects
*Can work individually or on a team
*High level of aptitude in human resources management
*Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with Co-workers and Managers
