What is MPGe?

This helps compare the mileage of driving in electric mode to the commonly used MPG figure for gas vehicles. So by driving Prius Prime in electric mode, we project an estimated equivalent of 120 MPG. 4 The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) uses the MPG equivalent (MPGe) figure to convert the measurement of power used by plug-in hybrid vehicles, electric vehicles and others not powered by liquid fuels into something that resembles the more familiar MPG rating.

2015 BMW i8 Quant Flow Cell Car Four identical, asynchronous three-phase drive motors (D) propel the QUANT e-Sportlimousine. They are designed to produce 680 kW (912 HP) each, though this peak is not achieved during driving. The overall performance of the power train is limited to a maximum of 480 kW (653 PS). In addition, there is a state-of-the-art central ECU (electronic control unit) responsible for controlling the driving- and charging-currents throughout the entire power train. Te future may be Fuel Cell Cars. Twice as efficient. This is a race car but regular cars can use this technology to get 100 MPG or more?
