As the civil engineer of record, Taliaferro & Browne was proud to celebrate the groundbreaking of the Historic NE Lofts at the former Hardesty Federal Complex.

Our Project Manager Brenton Sells, P.E., LEED A.P., Project Engineer Blake Johnson, and Marketing Manager Ashli Harris joined partners in marking the start of a redevelopment that will bring new retail, restaurants, childcare, greenspace, and 389 housing units—80% affordable—to Kansas City’s Northeast.

Transforming this historic site into a vibrant, community-focused development is exactly how we help our clients build a sustainable future. We’re honored to support a project that uplifts neighborhoods and carries our city’s story forward.

We had a fantastic time co-hosting our 22nd Annual Tow-Off Tailgate with our friends at Lathrop Gage. The day was filled with great energy, even greater company, and the perfect reminder that teamwork, on and off the field, makes all the difference.

And that 31-0 Chiefs win? Exactly how we called it! How about those…Chiefssssssssss!!! ❤️💛

Last week, we joined to gather community feedback on the 31st Street Streetscape Design-Build project, where Taliaferro & Browne serves as the civil design lead.

A new chapter is unfolding in the Historic 18th & Vine District — and we’re honored to help write it.

Today, Taliaferro & Browne (T&B) was proud to attend the groundbreaking on a $20 million, multi-level parking garage at 18th & Lydia that will bring 470 much-needed spaces to the heart of the District. This project is more than just a garage — it’s a key step in supporting transformative developments like the upcoming Pedestrian Mall and the Negro Leagues Hotel. As the civil engineer of record for all of these efforts, we’re proud to continue building on the legacy and future of 18th & Vine.

We can’t wait to celebrate the grand opening — the best is yet to come.

There was a time when 18th & Vine pulsed with life—where Charlie Parker’s saxophone stirred souls and dance fever lit up the streets. Yesterday, that spirit came alive again. We proudly broke ground on The Parker at 18th & Vine—two low mid-rise buildings with 48 residential units, a private courtyard, and new retail and office space.

Thanks to the unwavering vision of our President Leonard Graham, our Project Engineer Jordan Williams, and our partners Kelvin Simmons, McCormack Baron Companies , and Kansas City Charlie Parker’s legacy will once again echo through the District. This is more than a development—it’s a revival.

Special thanks to our leaders Mayor Quinton Lucas , Councilwoman Melissa Patterson Hazley for 3rd District at Large, and Former Councilman Jermaine Reed for their unwavering support.
