A park can be so much more than a place to play, it can be a place where a community comes together.

Piggush Engineering was proud to provide surveying, engineering, grant assistance, bidding, construction engineering, and project closeout services for the Village of Cullom’s Village Park Improvements Project.

Completed in July 2026, the project transformed a sparsely developed recreation area into a more welcoming and accessible community gathering space.

Improvements include:
✔️A new ADA-accessible playground with compliant safety surfacing
✔️A pavilion and performance stage for community events
✔️A game table for outdoor recreation and social connection
✔️New on-street parking
✔️ADA-compliant sidewalk connections throughout the park

The project was made possible in part through a $600,000 Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) OSLAD grant.

We’re proud to have helped bring this vision to life and create a space where Cullom residents of all ages and abilities can gather, play, celebrate, and enjoy their community.

This critical funding directly supports a variety of key municipal projects, ensuring safer, more resilient, and improved infrastructure for local residents and businesses:

✔️IL 1/17 Multi-Use Path: Expanding connectivity and outdoor recreational opportunities.
✔️Esson Farm Road Safe Routes to School Path: Creating a safer walk and bike route for local students.
