Just printed some parts for a customer in a Formlabs resin called Tough 2000, this material is definitely robust enough for functional prototypes.

Got my new touch probe set up on the mill. This is the Impact Tolerant Touch Probe by Cliff Hall from New Zealand, it's accurate and repeatable.

The printed cavities will get assembled into steel frames called a mold base. This entire tool gets installed into an injection molding machine which then injects molten plastic resin into the mold creating the parts.

Next the CAD model is converted into a format that the 3D print software can recognize, it then utilizes a process called slicing to generate all of the movement the printer does to create the part. Our printer is from Formlabs and it's software is called Preform.
