This milestone reflects the people, partnerships, and progress that continue to shape who we are. Special thanks to Trent Moving and Storage and Snyder Signs, Inc. this week, and the many others who helped make this possible.

We’re excited to be part of the Town of Abingdon, Virginia and build lasting relationships in the community.

A meaningful full-circle moment—our new office neighbor (directly above us) is K-VA-T Corporate Support Center, a project we had the privilege to provide structural design services for a few years ago.

As we approach the end of the year—and celebrate the season of Thanksgiving—we at Prosim are especially grateful.

There has been much excitement in our community after learning The U.S. Forest Service has awarded the Virginia Creeper Bridge and Trail Reconstruction Project. Prosim Engineering, LLC is honored to join a distinguished team of firms partnering with Kiewit Corporation, the Contractor selected to lead this substantial undertaking.

This design–build project includes the reconstruction of more than 30 bridges and miles of trail that were significantly impacted by Hurricane Helene in 2024.

We are proud to help play a role in a project of this magnitude—one that will restore a national landmark, strengthen local economic resilience, empower the community, and create a lasting legacy for generations to come.

This week the majority of our Team has been on the Virginia Tech campus attending the Structural Design of Wood Structures seminar. We're certainly excited to take what we're learning and apply it to our projects and further help our client's make their dreams become a reality.

Even on cloudy days sunshine can be found... we're so thankful for 21+ years of working with amazing clients. And today one of our amazing clients that we helped recently on a small project dropped by with a chef created meal from a local restaurant in downtown Johnson City. Thank you Kim Dulaney for the delicious food - our team loved the lunch and kindness! Kim has worked with us through the years with our graphic and print needs - we're honored that she trusted us to work on her personal structural project.

As we head into a long holiday weekend, Prosim wants to wish you a Happy Labor Day. Our offices will be **closed** Friday, August 30, through Monday, September 2, 2024.

August officially marks 21 years in providing Professional Structural Engineering Services in over 10 states. We’re surrounded by amazing people that have entrusted us to design and assist on many incredible projects – Thank you!

It’s not every day our project meetings take place early morning on top of Holston Mountain at a balmy 38 °F, winds, overcast clouds, mixed with rain… And sometimes a few trees have fallen, blocking the path, and the group of meeting attendees jump out of their trucks to pull the trees out of the way (while making good use of what was available - including tow straps and ax work) to ensure our meeting takes place on site location. Today, that’s where you would have found some of our team members.

This morning, we joined several members with ETSU + WETS-FM and Advanced Wireless Solutions, Inc to take a look at our current ongoing project: ETSU/WETS Radio Tower Replacement on Holston Mountain in East Tennessee.

This project includes replacing and repairing the existing Radio Tower (photos shown note existing Tower still standing) with a new Radio Tower (photos shown note new tower laying and preparing to be assembled). This project has taken a meticulously sequenced process in order to keep local public broadcast radio and emergency services operating without interruption. Not to mention, all parts and heavy equipment to this new Radio Tower have been (and continue to be) transported for several miles along high mountain terrains of a mostly gravel narrow (and often, in bad weather, treacherous) road.

Prosim Engineering, LLC has served as the Designer of Record + Structural Engineering Services, with special thanks to Craig Young, PE (Engineer) and Chris Little (Senior Designer) who have both played a critical role in managing this project. However, this project wouldn’t have been possible without the TEAM of people that joined us on this adventure. We want to extend our many thanks to the following for all of their efforts and hard work:

As we begin 2024, our initiative has been to refresh our Team’s safety standards and practices. As part of our steps, in February our ENTIRE Team (beginning with a Morning Team Meeting at Blackbird Bakery in Bristol, VA) participated in Fall Protection & PPE Training. We want to extend a heartfelt thanks to Stacy Prince, Safety Director, at BurWil Construction Company for taking time to provide (what will continue as) annual training for every team member here at Prosim. Thank you Stacy and BurWil Construction Company!
