Shop ledger:

Got two longri**es on the bench today. Finishing up one while starting another between coats of oil.

One of my favorite parts of building these ri**es is watching a rough piece of wood slowly take shape, then seeing that beautiful curl and figure come to life with each coat of finish.

A little carving, a little fitting, and a whole lot of patience.

Another custom knife made it to its new home last week!

After receiving it, our customer had this to say:

I don’t normally forge modern knives but occasionally I’ll go off script and make one or two for a few customers.

It’ll find a new home with a gentleman who serves as a Special Observer in the British Army’s Royal Artillery.

Always a pleasure to make something by hand for someone who appreciates the craft.

July 2026 Update:

Me:

Well, some on you know, but most don’t, that I had knee surgery last week. It definitely brought things to a halt around the house and shop.

I’m doing much better since I started PT Monday. I think I’ll be able to get out in the shop Saturday Lord willing. I also hope to get these stitches out in the morning. That will make my range of motion much easier.

The forge:

I have four knives that I need to finish shaping the handles on and they’ll be ready to ship out. Thank you all for being patient.

There are 2 slots available for custom knives and 2 slots available for flintlocks.
